Romans 10:9 says that “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Many people have gone astray today, even those who once had a relationship with God. They now ask questions driven by the desire and hunger stemming from the fact that they have not truly experienced God. Prophet TB Joshua observed: “Until you experience God, there will be dissatisfaction in your life, a sense of hunger to know what life is all about and a desire to know what happens after life is over.” These desires make us ask questions such as: Are we truly saved? How can we be saved? To obtain what you desire, you must do what is required. To receive salvation, you must meet the necessary requirement.
The only thing required for us to be saved is to believe. Believing is the requirement for salvation. Christ has completed the work for us on the Cross; all that is needed is for us to accept it and take possession of it. As Prophet TB Joshua also noted, “Believing is possessing. The instant you believe, it is yours.” The problem of believing is made simple when we know that it is acting on what God has spoken. We truly believe God when we trust that His Word has accomplished what it promises to do.
Farmers are perfect examples. When they plant their seeds, they do not go back every day to till the ground and check if the seed is germinating. They simply trust in nature, believing that the seed will grow. If a farmer can trust nature without a definite promise, we should be able to trust the God of nature. Finally, belief is the only condition for answered prayers. We only truly believe God when we accept His Word and trust that He will fulfil what He has promised to do.
Prayer: O Holy Spirit, help me to trust implicitly in Your power, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
