Hearkening to the charge in Psalm 98:4-6, the people shouted for joy to the Lord and made music with different instruments. It was not just any other Sunday; it was the very day the leader of The SCOAN turned 55 years on the face of the earth. Esther of The SCOAN Sunday School performed a special number in celebration of the day. And “Yes, Lord, My Soul Says Yes!” The SCOAN Choristers also led the people to sing, among numerous other songs exalting Yahweh for His unending compassion and forgiveness.
When Evangelist Ope began his sermon, entitled “Vision-Minded,” he began by paying tribute to Pastor Evelyn Joshua. He extolled her industriousness, discipline and character. In his words: “She is a disciplined mother and leader who does not pamper mediocrity, foolishness. She is a woman of excellence who pampers excellence. And as a disciplined woman, she is a woman of character.”
Evangelist Ope then read from Habakkuk 2:2. He described vision as “a photographic picture of the future you desire and see in your heart that produces or propels you to action.” He spoke about how to fulfil one’s vision under God’s guidance. A person of vision is always focused and keeps the right company to help them grow and fulfil that vision, he explained. “Your focus is your personal responsibility, your personal decision,” he added. The evangelist further noted that people of vision are people of character who have traits such as patience, temperance, forbearance, humility, endurance, perseverance, and modesty, among others.
People of character, the evangelist went on, are people who work with only God’s timing and always seek to evolve by learning from the challenges around them. According to him, vision brings the boldness and confidence for enduring times of difficulty. Vision equally helps one to make the best of challenging times. In the evangelist’s concluding words, he noted the need not to be discouraged by failed plans. In his words: “The fact that your plans failed does not mean your vision has failed. A failed plan is not a failed vision. Do it again! Plan again! Pay any price to protect your vision!”
Happy 55th Birthday, Pastor Evelyn Joshua!
December 17, 2023 being her 55th birthday, Pastor Evelyn Joshua broke into song as she joined the people: “What Shall We Say Unto The Lord/All We Have To Say Is/Thank You, Lord!” She thanked the Lord for giving her the grace to do His work, and then prayed for the people: “May the grace of God in your life never suffer corruption, in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Pastor Evelyn Joshua further prayed: “Father Lord, we thank You for this wonderful day. We have come to You with a heart full of grace, a heart full of joy. Almighty God, we ask You for the grace to continue to obey Your commandments and to stay in fellowship with You. Father Lord God Almighty, let Your Word abide in us and we abide in it, in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, guide us to Your way of truth and give us the power to continue to follow that way. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray!”
The woman of God gave a few remarks as she moved towards her birthday cake. “What is good needs prayer,” she said. “I need prayer,” she added. She also encouraged the people to mark her birthday by reaching out to others in love. “When you receive something you can never earn, it is ground for gratitude not arrogance,” she reminded the people. Finally, she said to the people: “The work of grace must continue.”
Flanked by her children and The SCOAN Evangelists, Pastor Evelyn Joshua cut her 55th birthday cake in an attitude of gratitude to God Almighty.
Divine Wonders At The Prayer Line
When the woman of God rejoined those at The Prayer Line, she said: “The reason for our celebration here today is what God can do in the lives of people; in a hopeless situation, He gives them hope.” She prayed: “We are here again, O Lord! See to the needs of Your children; they have come to seek Your face. Father, reveal yourselves in their lives, in the name of Jesus Christ. Let them speak a new language—the language of healing, blessing, prosperity—in the name of Jesus Christ! We thank You, Lord, because we know You can do it again and again!”
Pastor Evelyn Joshua then moved into the midst of the people and began to lay anointed hands on them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As the aura of the Holy Spirit overshadowed the people, their numerous cases received attention at The Throne Of Grace. Among their petitions were lumbar spondylosis, poor vision, migraine, ankle injury, sickle-cell anaemia, seizures, severe back pain, kidney tumour, spinal tumour, skin disease, piles, breast cancer, foot ulcers, chin tumour, swollen belly/legs, bed-wetting, lung problems, high blood pressure, prostate enlargement, kidney stones, frequent urination, and palm ulcers, among others.
Prayers of protection also rained upon a sizeable number of pregnant women. Thank You, Jesus!
God’s power continued to reverberate around The SCOAN Auditorium as Pastor Evelyn Joshua and The SCOAN Evangelists laid blessed hands on the people. In the process, demons confessed their atrocities in the people’s lives before fleeing forever.
And The Lord Gave Them A Solution To Every Issue!
“Indeed, today is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it,” said Evangelist James at the start of the Mass Prayer session. He asked the people to pray, “Lord Jesus, I am your child; deliver me.” He further prayed for them: “Every spirit that kills, destroys, steals from your life, family, career—Out, in the name of Jesus! You contrary spirit—I command you: Out!”
Evangelist Chisom told congregants to pray: “You unclean, contrary spirit—anywhere you are, in the name of Jesus: Out! You evil spirit, no hiding place for you; anywhere you are, you have been exposed. I command you in the name of Jesus: Out! You darkness, anywhere you are in my body my body is not your dwelling place. I command you by the light of God: Out!”
Evangelist Joseph prayed: “Every spirit of affliction, disease attacking your health—anywhere they are—Holy Ghost Fire: Out!” He also told them to declare: “You sickness in my blood, you disease in my heart, you sickness in my lungs, heart—I command you: Anywhere you are, come out!”
Evangelist Ope told the people to pray: “You spirit of poverty, hardship, limitation, anywhere you—Holy Ghost Fire: Out!”
Pastor Evelyn Joshua reminded the people: “A steadfast look at the Cross will never look in vain to the Blessed One.” She told them, “Ask Jesus Christ to restore your sight.” She then prayed for the people: “Every spirit that is challenging your Sonship in Christ Jesus—be delivered. Every power that is challenging your being—be loosed from such powers. Every contact that satan may be having of you—be freed! Freedom in your home, family, children! Be healed in body, spirit, soul! Whatever name your sickness is called—we declare you free today, in the name of Jesus Christ! Be freed from every wrong connection!”
In a Mass Prayer video, Prophet TB Joshua told the people to declare: “I am ready to be healed, delivered. Lord Jesus, deliver me! Locate me in Your mercy. Don’t leave me out when you are delivering others.” He prayed for them: “Every infirmity, every spirit troubling your life—leave, in the name of Jesus! The spirits that steal from your life, that destroy—I command them to leave you!”
Prophet TB Joshua continued: “Behind every pain, stagnation, infirmity affliction there is a spirit. Every spirit troubling your life, business, career, family, marriage, relationships—command them out!” He further prayed with the people: “Trouble in my health—receive solution, deliverance, healing! Trouble in my business, marriage, career, family, relationship—receive solution! Every trouble in my life—leave, in the name of Jesus!” God’s servant further prayed: “Every affliction troubling your life—I command it out, in the name of Jesus! Let every trouble receive solution!” Finally, the man of God asked the people to proclaim: “My business, career, marriage, family, health—there is solution, in the name of Jesus!”

Former Nigerian professional footballer Ebus had been seeking a coaching career but had been unable to make any headway. He then made his way to The SCOAN for prayer. “I returned to the United Kingdom and started ministering the New Anointing Water,” he said on December 17, 2023. On December 10, 2023, when she sat for prayer before Pastor Evelyn Joshua, Emma from Sierra Leone was suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. “One morning my wrists, ankles and fingers started to hurt and swell,” she told the church a week later. For months, she bore the pain even as she visited different doctors for treatment. “The doctors found nothing,” said Emma. “My feet also started to swell and I could no longer walk,” she continued. On receiving prayer, however, Emma saw God’s power surge through her and now she is free from all pain. “As you can see, my hands and feet are okay now; I thank God for Pastor Evelyn Joshua,” she said smilingly while demonstrating her healing. “Never get discouraged,” she urged the world. “Ask God for mercy and all shall be well with you!” she ended.
“I Am Now For God!” Declares Man Delivered From Household Demon
For the demon in Eze, the grouse with Eze and his family was their refusal to carry on worshipping it, as their father had used to do. During the deliverance session for Eze on December 10, 2023, the demon fumed, “I have destroyed him!” Of course, because it was powerless before Jesus Christ, the demon promptly succumbed as the evangelist commanded fire upon it. A week later, Eze returned to testify with his siblings. “After my father’s death, nobody continued with serving the oracle of my father’s house; as such, our lives life became a wreck,” Eze recalled. He told of how he could not pursue his education successfully or thrive in business. “My older brother sponsored me to go into professional football but I ended up not being picked during trials despite doing well,” he said. Eze said he was always drinking, smoking and womanising. “I kept sleeping with different strange women in the dream and my life took a serious hit from satan’s kingdom,” he disclosed. Although he had failed to show up in church after numerous invitations by his brother, Eze made himself available once God’s Spirit ministered to him. “I came on my own and called my brother when I arrived,” he said. “After the evangelist touched me, I couldn’t remember anything else,” he said. Since then, Eze has had a confirmatory dream in which he parted ways with bad friends. “All my negative urges have vanished,” he added. He advised others to seek God over their issues. Eze’s younger sibling, Daniel, told of how the family idol had prevented him from pursuing his education and succeeding in business. However, he thanked God for freeing him as well. “Stick with God,” he advised others. Crushed By A Trailer, Healed By Jesus Christ!
Irene testified about receiving a new life from God through the medium of the New Anointing Water. She had been returning from an interstate trip on August 21, 2023 when a trailer ran over her at a transition stop. “I woke up to find myself on the hospital bed,” she told the church on December 17, 2023. Doctors told her that she had leg fractures and that she would not be able to walk for the next six months. Irene asked for her bag and fished out her New Morning Water. After a while, she insisted on being taken home. The doctors reluctantly agreed, as they had wanted her to undergo surgery. At home, however, it seemed that Irene’s wounds were refusing to heal, prompting a return to the hospital. “The doctors mentioned surgery again, but Irene stood her ground and continued ministering the New Anointing Water. “All of the dead tissue fell off and my feet healed without any surgery,” she testified, displaying the feet. “Only God heals,” she advised others. “Once you believe, everything is settled,” she added. Irene’s daughter, Susan, recalled how she had met her mother in the hospital. “We rallied round her in faith, and we thank God for taking control,” she said.
Freed From Cage Of Anger And Unforgiveness!
Anger and unforgiveness were some of the problems brought into Emmanuel’s life by powers from his father’s house that wanted him to fail. That much became evident during the service of November 26, 2023 as an evangelist commanded fire upon the demon. On December 17, 2023, Emmanuel returned to church to testify, alongside one of his sisters. “At 2 a.m. I always felt a strange presence around me that made it impossible for me to continue sleeping,” he said.
