Hebrews 5:8-9 says, “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.”
Our Lord Jesus Christ was insulted, rejected, and falsely accused, but He responded with forgiveness, knowing that His death on the Cross would accomplish salvation for humankind. Because Christ decided to learn obedience by the things He suffered, God refined Him through them. Today, however, we oftentimes run from the very things that are meant to bring growth to our lives.
How clearly do you really see your life? Do you see it the way God sees it? God clearly sees the real you, the prosperous you. However, what many are today is far from what God sees. The Lord Jesus wants to heal our wounds; He wants us saved. It is not too late for you to begin to believe and obey God’s Word. The situation you are going through is a builder, a refiner of character; it is a purifier that is meant for your spiritual benefit. It is meant for your obedience. Remember, the way of obedience is the way out of unpleasant situations. When we go through unpleasant situations, we should rest in the place God has for us; we should stay put and hold on to the promises He has for us in the Holy Scriptures.
Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit, help me to learn the way of obedience to God’s will, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen!
