Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Many profess Christianity, proclaiming Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour when they do not believe Him in their heart. The Bible warns us that it is not enough to profess Christianity; God’s Word says that we must also believe in Christ. People oftentimes judge others by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. God values our faith because it makes us one with Him.
Righteousness is a gift from God — a gift for those who confess and also believe. Believing means, you are no longer ignorant and that you now have the knowledge of truth. By believing, trust comes – acceptance of the truth in the midst of your heart. Jesus has paid the price for us; all you need to do is to believe. When you speak right, you are training yourself to think right. When you think right, you are training yourself to act right (Joshua 1:8). This means that you must speak only what is in accordance with God’s Word. It is God’s desire to bless you, but you must first speak His Word and do what the Word says. Your thoughts must reflect your belief. Your words must reflect your belief. Your actions must reflect your belief — that is the secret of success. If your heart and mind are filled with God’s Word, you will speak the right words and you will be a wonder to your world. Emmanuel!
Prayer: O Holy Spirit, help my heart and my mouth to act only in accordance with You, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen!
