The power of faith is not found in taking risks, but in confidently trusting God’s Word and following the guidance of His Spirit. As 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

The power of faith

PROOF TEXT:
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Faith is not a risk but a sure and practical act built upon God’s Word and guided by His Spirit.

Many people struggle with faith because they focus on what they can see and feel, but true faith comes from being grounded in Scripture and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in the heart. When God’s Word fills the heart, the Spirit has something to remind us of in difficult moments.

Faith is never forced or based on human effort. Anything that comes by force is not faith. Genuine faith flows naturally from trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice—healing, deliverance, victory, and salvation have already been provided. Faith simply rests in what Christ has accomplished.

It is not confidence in ourselves or others but complete trust in God alone, knowing that He is faithful and able to fulfill His promises.

The evidence of true faith is absolute trust in God after prayer. A believer who has faith does not remain overwhelmed by fear, worry, or anxiety because faith rests in God’s love, wisdom, and power.

Prayer should be followed by confidence that God is already working out the answer according to His perfect will.

Faith does not depend on human reasoning, personal plans, or self-effort but on total surrender to God. Many believers struggle because they rely on their own understanding instead of yielding completely to the Holy Spirit.

True faith requires putting aside personal thoughts, ways, and expectations and resting in God’s direction. Just as a person is guided by the influence they are under, believers must be under God’s influence to do His will. Genuine faith produces peace, confidence, and dependence on God rather than fear, anxiety, and reliance on human understanding.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, help me to live by faith and not by sight. Teach me to trust completely in Your finished work and surrender my own ways, thoughts, and understanding to You. Fill my heart with confidence in Your love, wisdom, and power, and let my faith rest fully in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
