1 John 4:16 says, “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

To know is to rely on and to rely on is to know. It is impossible to rely on or trust in who you do not know. God Almighty helps us when it comes to the issue of faith by showing us His nature. Our Father shows us His nature and His Divine abilities because He wants us to know that He is Reliable. He acknowledges that we must know that He is reliable. We trust God when we know that He is reliable and trustworthy. This understanding comes when the nature of God has been revealed to us. The revelation of the Love of God comes through His only begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the man who died that we might live.

The Bible says in Romans 10:17, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. It is through this Word that we know God in Truth and in Spirit. In Truth because He is the Way, in Spirit because He is the Life. It is when this truth is revealed to us that we know God and can rely on Him. He is called Truth because He does what He says, He does what He has promised and never turns back on His Word. This truth endures forever; it is a solid foundation that prevails no matter the situation. People of God, the more you know God, the more you can rely on Him. We know Him by His Word.
