FOCUS ON JESUS

Hebrews 12:1-2 says:

“…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Many Christians today complain because they feel their prayers are not answered. In difficult times, they often dwell on their own thoughts—thoughts that are not of God. They grumble about their situation, forgetting that both good and hard times are part of our walk with God. Instead of focusing on Christ Jesus, they center their lives on their feelings, how they are treated, and their circumstances. But as Christians, we are called to be like Jesus—not like the masses who move through life without direction or purpose.

You may work hard, struggle greatly, and still feel stuck. Even when doing God’s work, you may feel overwhelmed by the challenges around you. But don’t give up—focus on the One who demonstrated His love for us on the cross of Calvary. When your focus is on Jesus, your situation will not control you.

Do not yield to the temptation to act out of character—remember, we are in the world but not of it. When hard times come, stay in faith and focus on Jesus. For those whose lives are centered in Christ, the best is always yet to come.
