CAPTURE YOUR THOUGHTS – Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
There is a constant battle between good and evil, love and hate, the flesh and the spirit—and that battle takes place in the minds of believers. Becoming a Christian does not mean you are automatically free from these struggles; in fact, you must consciously choose God every day.
This battle presents a common dilemma for Christians: the power of choice. And when it comes to our thoughts, there is no neutral ground—our thoughts are either of faith or of doubt. As Prophet T.B. Joshua says, “Mind management is the first priority of an overcomer.” As Christians, we are called to manage our minds so we can attract the positive reality we desire. Manage your mind because what happens in your mind will happen in time.
We must manage our thoughts to prevent sinful actions. As Prophet T.B. Joshua said, “Take care of your thoughts, for they will become your habits. Take care of your habits, for they will become your character. Take care of your character, for they will become you.”
The only way to capture our thoughts is through meditation on the Word of God. This is so important, as the Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” When your mind is busy with God’s Word, it won’t be idle or available for sin. Once you capture your thoughts, you capture everything—you have won the battle (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for the grace to constantly meditate on Your Word. Please give me the strength to capture my thoughts for Your glory. Amen.
