CALLED TO SERVICE

Called to service – Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

As a believer, a member of the household of faith, you are called to be a steward. The Lord created you and gave you an assignment of stewardship, an unconditional service to humans as a representative of God here on earth. Every believer is a proclaimer; every Christian is a missionary. All who have received should give, for it is more blessed to give than to receive. There is no one quite like you, for we are all endowed with our own unique ability—something good, beautiful and wonderful within that needs to be transferred to the outside to meet the needs of others. The spiritual gift of every believer requires them to minister others, who are also required to minister to them; in other words, we are one another’s strength.

God has given us a purpose and that purpose is service to one another, for we are all a part of one body; indeed, as iron sharpens iron, so does one person sharpen the other. To know your purpose here on earth, you must draw close to God because whatever you claim to be doing for God is only a reflection of the relationship you have with Him. As Christians, we are called to lifelong service. This is our obligation and we must be prepared to render our unconditional service to those who need it every day.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to strengthen my relationship with You. Help me, Lord, to fulfil my purpose here on earth, in Jesus’ name! Amen.
