Let us choose to remain steadfast. Let us follow God Almighty not man. For when we anchor our faith in Him alone, no storm can move us.

Follow God Almighty Not Man

People of God, when you reflect on life, you will agree with me that many today have altered the course of their lives by taking shortcuts. They appear to believe only when all is well with them.

As long as they do not experience bad times, Jesus Christ is Lord. But when the wind of hard times blows across their possessions, they say Jesus Christ be cursed. There and then, they will begin to see Jesus Christ in a bad light.

As genuine believers, however, when our troubles seem unyielding despite our prayers, fasting and struggles, it is in our own interest to get above our fears, anxiety and worries by leaving everything to God Almighty.

Joshua 24:14-15 says, “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell, but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua knew that among his people were those who were merely convinced about his God. It is one thing to be convinced, and it is another thing to be converted. A true converted soul is a believing soul. A true converted soul has an independent mind.

In other words, he knows only what God put in his heart because he examines all things in the light of God’s Word and holds on to what is true.

On the contrary, a merely convinced soul relies completely on what he hears, sees or what his circumstances look like to gather information that he then acts on; he has no independent mind.

When you are merely convinced about God Almighty, you will trust in man’s majority rather than God’s authority.

People of God, like the Joshua of olden times, I put it to you this day to choose for yourselves whom to serve — whether God Almighty, who alone can deliver, rescue and save, or other powerless gods. If God is the only thing, then your commitment will be total, genuine, and not fake.

People of God, when you are truly converted as a genuine believer, you will see what you are doing now as an assignment from God. Then you cannot afford to fail God because you will be conscious of the fact that one day you will return to Him and rest in Him.

To a man of faith, I mean to a genuine believer whose focus is on God Almighty, every trouble is designed to advance his cause in his spiritual walk with the Lord.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, come and strengthen my faith for You and use me as Your instrument. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
