ARE YOU CONSCIOUS?

Proof Text: Matthew 18:7 NIV

People of God, when you are conscious of your neighbour’s weakness, you will not put them in a position that will lead them into temptation, causing them to fall.

When you understand that people are faced with different weaknesses – jealousy, anger, and urges of all kinds – you should not put them in a position that will cause them to fall because we are one another’s strength.

When you understand that you are standing upon God’s grace as a result of His love for humankind, you will not do anything to jeopardize your brother or sister’s standing.

Christians, are you conscious that your actions, whether good or bad, are akin to planting seeds? Remember that your actions are judged by your intentions.

What are the intentions of the words you speak to your neighbour? Do you intend to build or break? When you correct others, is it from a place of offence, pride or love?

God judges man’s actions by his intentions. This is why God looks at man’s heart, not man’s appearance.

When you are conscious that all that matters is your spirit and not your body, you will not live to please the flesh. Instead, you will guard your spirit against the corruption of the flesh because your spirit is the main thing about you.

The consciousness of who you are and who you serve changes everything. When you live consciously as a child of God, you will watch every step to ensure you are living in accordance with God’s Spirit.

Christians, both he who is in the flesh and he who is in the Spirit, are under the control of something. This is why Galatians 5:16 urges us: “Walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the flesh.”

This means that when you are not under the influence and conduct of the Holy Spirit, you are under the control of sin.

Therefore, we ought to be conscious of the life we live, knowing that one day we will receive a reward for what we did while in this body, whether good or bad.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, have mercy on me. Help me to live consciously, in accordance with the Spirit. Help me to live a life that will please You, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
