“They kidnapped us!”
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare and the reason why parents normally advise their children not to collect sweets or food from strangers…the fear that their child might one day be kidnapped. For Mr and Mrs Osuoha from Imo State, Nigeria, that nightmare became a reality when, not just one but two of their sons aged nine and eleven, whom they sent to get their hair cut, went missing. Many questions were raised as to where their children were and like every caring parent, the worst case scenarios including ‘murder’ went through their troubled minds. Both Mr and Mrs Osuoha were left traumatised and, needless to say, feared the worst. As avid viewers of Emmanuel TV and also aware of the miracles God had been doing through T.B. Joshua, Mr and Mrs Osuoha came to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (The SCOAN) a day after their children went missing, Sunday, June 13th 2010. It was in this service that God used T.B. Joshua to bring hope to the desperate couple.
Being led by the Spirit of God, T.B. Joshua fished out Mrs Osuoha from among the crowd through a prophetic message. Pointing to her he said, “The woman that’s putting on native attire, let her come.” Looking directly at her, he stated, “You are disturbed. I want to tell you that these children – you will see them. As you are talking now, the Lord is releasing them. The foundation of your trouble will be uprooted today.” That was the light at the end of her dark tunnel – the light she needed to transform her helpless situation and her once faltering heart quickly picked up as she regained hope.

Sunday 20th June 2010, at The SCOAN was an unforgettable service featuring an unforgettable victory. Among the remarkable happenings of the service which included the Word of God backed by power, healing and deliverance, were the amazing confirmation of the prophecy T.B. Joshua gave to Mrs Osuoha a week earlier and the reconciliation of the entire Osuoha family. The congregation bellowed with joy and excitement as Mr and Mrs Osuoha walked towards T.B. Joshua at the altar of The SCOAN with their two handsome young sons following them. Yes, it was true – the two sons that had been in the hands of kidnappers were now released and back in the safe arms of their parents just as T.B. Joshua had prophesied! Mr and Mrs Osuoha could hardly contain their joy brimming with the awesome testimony, that once their sons were lost but now they are found.

Sharing her testimony, Mrs Patience Osuoha recalled the prophecy with joy, “He prophesied and said, ‘Woman you are disturbed. Don’t worry the children you are looking for, I’m seeing them come back.’ I believed him that what he prophesied would be accomplished. We went home with faith. To God be the glory – after some days I was with my husband. I heard the voice of the senior one on the phone, ‘Mummy, mummy, help! Come and carry us. I don’t know the place we are in’. Before I knew it, I saw my children come back as the Man of God had prophesied. Prophet T.B. Joshua later commented during the service regarding the identification of a true Prophet, “If what he says comes to pass, he’s speaking of God but if it doesn’t come to pass, he’s speaking of himself.

The hearts of the congregation were touched as the elder of the two boys, Nnaemeka Innocent aged 11, gave his own account. “Emmanuel! If God is with us who can be against us?” The congregation replied in one accord, “No one!” Innocently and in the same vein that his name implies (Innocent), Nnaemeka said, “When my dad sent us for a hair-cut, a strange man came and said he wanted to bring us something.” Not fully understanding what had happened to him or the method the kidnappers had used to induce him and his brother, he said, “Then I fell asleep. The following day I discovered I was in a strange place. I told my brother, ‘It’s like they kidnapped us’. Many hearts sank as Nnaemeka recalled his ordeal. At his tender age, Nnaemeka seemed to have the kind of faith that would move mountains. “We called upon the Lord. We prayed to the Lord for His mercy upon our lives.” He explained that each time he would pray, the three kidnappers would come and beat them and tell them to stop praying. He said they were locked inside a room and by that room was another room. Upon opening the door to that room, he saw idols there. T.B. Joshua then asked Nnaemeka what the idols looked like. He replied that he looked away as he was so afraid. When asked by the man of God whether the kidnappers gave them any food to eat, he responded, “No just Gari and water”.

Addressing the boys’ parents, T.B. Joshua explained what would have been the fate of the boys had not God intervened. He said, “They wanted to use the body. They wanted to use their parts. After using their parts they would drop them somewhere. It’s not your money or anything they needed but the parts of their body – to use for ritual”. The prophet asked Nnaemeka, “Did you see anybody else there?” He replied, “Yes, there was another girl there.” At that point the congregation went silent. Their faces showed sympathy for the missing girl that was still in the hands of the kidnappers and for her parents who, the prophet said, would be looking for her. Nnaemeka continued, “They kept us in the room. They didn’t allow us to go outside. Each time we went to the rest room, they would bring us back and lock us inside. On Wednesday, when I was locked up praying with my brother, I overheard them fighting and quarrelling among themselves. They took us to a place and asked about our Dad’s business”. Addressing his colleague, one of the kidnappers retorted, “Why did you bring these children here?” They quarrelled among themselves and then called the boys’ father before putting them somewhere. That’s how the two boys were found. Chigozie, Nnaemeka’s younger brother who also chipped in a few words said, “I want to thank God for the prayer and help of T.B. Joshua.” Mr Osuoha also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to God, “Today God has put joy into our family. May His name be glorified in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I don’t know how to say it. I am full of joy!”

Showing concern for the little girl that was still in the hands of the kidnappers, T.B. Joshua called upon the congregation and viewers of Emmanuel TV to pray for her release. “Let’s rise and pray that the girl be released in the name of Jesus.” In a seemingly deep communion with God concerning the girl’s issue, T.B. Joshua prophesied about her current state, “She has become abnormal. They will release her but it has affected her brain. But God can still restore whatever they have taken.” Through the powerful prayers of His anointed servant T.B. Joshua together with the congregation, God has saved the lives of these children who would otherwise have been slaughtered like animals and their parts extracted for demonic use. To echo the word of Nnaemeka, If God is with us, who can be against us?” Nobody!

“I’m Happy She Can Walk Again!”

An equally intriguing aspect of The SCOAN live service were the activities at the prayer-line and the demonstration of God’s awesome ability through the five wise men. These men who were previously evangelists under T.B. Joshua’s ministry have within few weeks been seen operating at the same level of anointing as T.B. Joshua himself. They prayed for hundreds of sick and afflicted people and delivered prophetic messages to many individuals as they laid hands on them and set them free from their problems. The case of Mrs Comfort Imana, an 84 year old woman from Edo State, Nigeria who was brought by her grand-daughter in a car was one of the many healed. Displaying a placard with the words,
“I cannot walk due to chronic arthritis of both knees and using knee brace”. She spoke into the microphone to state her predicament and also catch the attention of the wise man who was praying for people. “Man of God I cannot walk”. Overshadowing her voice was that of her grand-daughter, Omoye Ohiorhenuan who pleaded on her behalf for the Man of God to pray for her. After laying hands and instructing Mrs Imana to, ‘Walk freely in the name of Jesus’ the rest was history as she stepped down from the car and took her first steps of freedom. She was able to walk independently for the first time in three years.
“Thank You, Jesus!” Mrs Imana exclaimed waving her hands appreciatively. Although many would have given up hope that at such a late stage in life it would be impossible to walk again, Imana’s grand-daughter who brought her to The SCOAN believed otherwise. Seeing her grand-mother walk again left her feeling elated and full of faith, “I’m very happy she can walk again.’ She said.

The service at The SCOAN began wonderfully with a powerful message from one of the wise men titled, “Look Up To Jesus Christ”. It was the perfect message to prepare the hearts of the congregation and all present for what was to take place. “Look in faith to the Cross where Jesus conquered the world and gave us victory.” Speaking about the good news of the Gospel, the wise man said, “I believe that with this good news, your life will change, your thinking will change, everything about you will change.”The evidence of Jesus Christ is lives changed and indeed hundreds, possibly thousands of lives were changed through the power of the Gospel. As the wise man encouraged the congregation, “Look in faith to Jesus Christ. We are called to come to Jesus Christ and trust Him above all.”
