On Monday February 12, 2024, following the successful and testimony-filled Revival in Ghana, Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Team set out on a charity journey with the gospel of love to the heart of the Greater Accra region in the Doryumu community – a traditional settlement in need of basic amenities.

In spite of the winding and somewhat bumpy nature of the roads that led to this community, Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Team were not discouraged. The tougher it was to navigate the terrain, the more passionate they were to reach out to residents of this community.

Upon arrival, the Emmanuel TV Team was greeted by a crowd of locals seated in an orderly way under canopies and expecting to receive the packages of love brought for them. The Emmanuel TV Team had on an earlier visit met with the elders of the community to find out the needs of the people.

The Emmanuel TV Team wasted no time in offloading the consignment of gifts and arranging them for onward distribution to the residents. The gifts included bags of rice, other assorted food items, cooking utensils, educational materials and cash.

As soon as the woman of God arrived on the scene, she was accorded a rising welcome amid loud ovation by the residents who expressed their admiration for her presence and unfolding gesture of true love.

Welcoming her, the Community Head, His Majesty, Nene Tetteh Doryumu II of Doryumu Kingdom said the community was elated to witness an unprecedented show of love by the woman of God and the Emmanuel TV Team.

“We are saying thank you to the woman of God for coming. The way the church is taking care of the wellbeing of the people is quite commendable. This gesture is an act of holiness because Godliness is next to holiness. We are overwhelmed with what Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners have done for us today,” he said.

Addressing the residents, Pastor Evelyn Joshua reiterated The SCOAN’s commitment and passion for giving to the needy in line with the legacy of Prophet TB Joshua who lived his entire life putting smiles on faces all over the world while propagating the message of salvation.

“We are here because God is with us. You are sitting down here today because God is with you. We are here on an assignment from God.  It not by power not by might but by the grace of God. This is a vision given to our father in the lord, Prophet TB Joshua,” she said.

Pastor Evelyn Joshua added that even though the founder of The SCOAN had since transited to eternal glory, his legacy of giving would be sustained forever.

“Though he has gone to be with the Lord, his legacy leaves on. This is the foundation he has laid down and we must continue with it. He told us that when you come to a place and the people welcome you and the power of God moves, before you leave that land, you must bless the people,” she said.

The woman of God then begun distributing cash gifts, footballs and packed schoolbags for schoolchildren. Her motherly love could be felt as she attended to every child, including those who came late.

After receiving their gifts, the schoolchildren gathered together in a dramatic expression of cheerfulness as they kept shouting “Keep watching Emmanuel TV!”

While the distribution of gifts was going on, the Member of Parliament representing the Shai Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon Linda Ocloo, arrived. The lawmaker marvelled at the quality and quantity of gifts she saw, saying they, as a community, had never witnessed such demonstration of love.

“In fact, I have never seen a thing like this before in my entire life as a Member of Parliament. This is the first time I have witnessed such a package for the community. What I have to say is that our lawmakers, the chiefs and the good people of Osudoku are most grateful for this gesture. God should richly bless the church and Mrs Evelyn Joshua. Because of this, I will visit the church and let the whole world know what she has done,” she said.

The Emmanuel TV Team watched as the gift items were shared equally among residents of the community. There was palpable joy and unrivalled elation on their faces as they received their gifts. Indeed, the beauty of giving is that it puts smiles on the faces of others.

After ensuring that every resident received his own portion of the gift items, the Emmanuel TV Team bade goodbye to the Doryumu community, leaving on their trail feelings of joy, elation and communal love.
