It was another colourful, exciting and impactful SCOAN Candlelight Service on December 31, 2023. Earlier in the day, the people had gathered for the last Sunday Service of the year and God Almighty had granted their petitions. However, because better is never good enough and the best is always yet to come, congregants returned to The Arena Of Liberty for the crossover service with the Woman In The Synagogue, Pastor Evelyn Joshua.
As is the tradition, The SCOAN Choristers sang from the depths of their soul, moving from worship to praise as the Spirit led – and getting the people to dance for the Lord, especially in the light of the awesome testimonies shared by those who had received miracles. Indeed, congregants were more than happy to hearken to God’s Word in Psalm 95:1: “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.”

Imbued with strength and inspiration from Heaven, Pastor Evelyn Joshua shared a word of exhortation with the title “Overcoming The Significance Of A Name”. The theme for the message came from 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, the story about Jabez, who was named for the sorrow that his mother experienced in the build-up to having him. It was a brilliantly crafted message that was illustrated with sweets and flowers. “Because of Christ, you are beautiful, lovely, sweet,” she assured the church.

Pastor Evelyn Joshua went on to stress the need to up one’s relationship with God, who is always faithful and loving. She said, “As a child of God, your name must affiliate with God Almighty.” She spoke unmistakably: “If you need a helper, follow Jesus; He is your Helper. If you need a companion, partner, follow Christ Jesus; He is the One.”

Regarding the kernel of her message Pastor Evelyn Joshua said, “Your name reveals who you are – your identity.” She then went on to announce: “THIS IS YOUR YEAR OF A NEW NAME.”- After leading everyone to light their candles, the woman of God urged them to pray: “Turn my destiny around, O God!” She also prayed with power from on High: “Jehovah Rapha, let Your deliverance power fall afresh on Your children, in the name of Jesus!”
Together with The SCOAN Evangelists, the leader of The SCOAN presented the Anointing Sticker to congregants and encouraged them to take all faith tools seriously in order to activate God’s power in them.

Cecilia’s Pains Cease In Jesus’ Name!

Cecilia from Ghana testified about her healing from difficulty in walking, which had resulted from a car accident. Although she went to several hospitals and got a lumbar corset, she did not get much relief. On November 26, 2023, when she sat for prayer before Pastor Evelyn Joshua, Cecilia did so with a lumbar corset supporting her gait. Moments later, she was exclaiming her gratitude to God Almighty while exercising her body. Now she can do all that she had been unable to do since the accident. She advised people to seek God in a living church.

Ulcers Vanish At The Mention Of The Name Of Jesus Christ

One Sunday in June 2022, Lucky had an accident in which he lost consciousness and found himself in a strange land full of many people. It transpired later that it had been a near-death experience for Lucky. “In that vision Prophet TB Joshua asked me to turn back and I woke up to see the hospital ceiling,” Lucky told the church at the Candlelight Service 2023. Despite all the treatment he received, however, Lucky continued to experience severe torment, as his injuries had become ulcerous. On August 21, 2022, he received prayer as Pastor Evelyn Joshua ministered. Right from that day, Lucky’s sores began to dry up. Now he is able to use his legs freely for the glory of God.

Five Years Of Foot Edema Gone In An Instant!

Elizabeth, a 42-year-old Ugandan living in Denmark, was in The SCOAN for prayer on December 31, 2023. She was suffering from foot edema, a problem that meant that she could not wear shoes owing to severe pain. For somebody living in Scandinavia – a very cold region of the world – this was a major issue. Days before the accident that led to the foot edema, Elizabeth had had a premonition of what was to come. And that was five years ago. “Some people had shot me in the leg and days later I had an accident that affected my right leg,” she told the church during the Candlelight Service that took place hours after she received prayer. Elizabeth’s injuries had been so bad that doctors had considered amputating the foot involved. Although she had plastic surgery to lessen her pain, Elizabeth got little or no relief – even with the use of a compression sock. After receiving prayer, however, Elizabeth became whole again. “I no longer itch, feel numb or experience pain in the leg,” she smiled. She advised people to take their issues to God.

Couple Saved From Grievous Accident, Wife Healed Of Ovarian Cysts

A South Sudanese couple testified about God’s intervention in their health. Mrs. Swangin had been suffering from ovarian cysts and doctors said she needed surgery. In faith, however, she had decided to call The SCOAN Prayer Line in May 2023. The following month, and later in September, she went for confirmation tests: The cysts were nowhere to be found! “Distance is not a barrier to your prayers,” she advised the congregants. On his part, her husband Mr. Swangin not only thanked God for the healing but also narrated how God saved them from a grievous accident. “People couldn’t believe we survived the accident; they kept asking for the dead bodies,” he told the church at the Candlelight Service 2023. He advised people to stick with God.

“I Am Terrific Not Terrified Or Terrible; I Am Better Not Bitter!” Says Lecturer Healed Of Piles Four Years Ago

Prof. Kush, a Ghanaian university professor, retold his testimony four years after he received his miracle right on The SCOAN Altar on September 27, 2019, during an Altar Water Service presided by Prophet TB Joshua. He had been suffering from a severe case of constipation caused by piles. Specialist doctors had struggled exceptionally to help Kush evacuate the stubborn contents of his large intestine. “Of course, I could not do my job as a lecturer,” he told the church at the Candlelight Service 2023. It was in that state that Kush had attended the Living Water Service, where God Almighty touched him specially. As it was that very day, so has the professor’s excitement remained – for the glory of God!
