On Friday, May 16, 2025, the city of Johannesburg witnessed an uncommon event. Tagged ‘The Holy Spirit Visitation In South Africa With Pastor Evelyn Joshua’, the event took place at the Expo Centre, a sprawling facility in the city’s Nasrec area. As early as the wee hours of the morning, tens of thousands had thronged the venue, hoping to keep a date with destiny. With faith in their hearts and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, they had come seeking the salvation of their souls.
Inside every packed hall the glory of the Lord shone through as the people worshipped and praised the Almighty.
The event anchors were Audrey and Alberto, who ensured smooth transitions all through.
They started by asking Apostle Samuel Raboteng to say the opening prayer.
Thereafter, Prof. Eunice Seekoe gave the welcome address, inviting the Holy Spirit to dwell among the people.
Besides renditions by The SCOAN Choir, there were worship sessions by several guest artistes.
Beginning with a Zulu number, gospel minister Taki Ndou called down the heavenly host as congregants got on their feet to offer a dance offering to the Lord.
Gospel minister Rofhiwa then took over the worship session, further raising the tempo.
With the number “Africa Will Be Saved”, gospel minister Mahendere carried on the worship.
Drawing from their rich repertoire of compositions by Prophet TB Joshua, The SCOAN Choristers declared the breaking of sin’s power over the people, even as they called for Jesus Christ to rain down His power of freedom, healing and blessings on them.
Before the leader of The SCOAN joined the people, Pastor Bernard read her citation, followed by a warm welcome from Pastor Sophie Mlati.
Charged To Embrace And Reflect God’s Love
“Every praise, every worship belongs to Almighty God,” Pastor Evelyn Joshua declared on joining the people. She prayed, “Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Father, we thank You for Your presence in this house.”
Her sermon entitled “God’s Love”, the woman of God read from Romans 5:8-12 as she enjoined the people to embrace the new life that Christ offers. “As a witness for God, do not only know Him but choose Him,” she said, noting that salvation comes from a combination of good work and its fruit in the believer’s life. Without this, she noted, the believer lacks the evidence of being a new creature in Christ Jesus.
The woman of God charged congregants to mirror Christ’s character in words and actions. Regarding perfection, she described it as “a journey of growth and transformation” that is anchored in the work of the Holy Spirit. “God speaks to us through His Word by His Spirit,” she said. This Spirit, she continued, ensures peace during chaos, guarantees hope in hopelessness, shines a light in the midst of darkness, and encourages forgiveness in times of wrongdoing.
Teaching further, Pastor Evelyn Joshua urged the people not to grieve the Holy Spirit, to be aware that they bear the mark of Christ and to be obedient to God’s Spirit so that they can receive blessings that last. “The human spirit will fail unless the Holy Spirit fills,” she reminded congregants while asking them to seek friendship with the Holy Spirit.
She closed her sermon with the counsel in Ephesians 4:31-32 – “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
An Explosive Visitation Of The Holy Spirit!
It was indeed an explosive visitation of the Holy Spirit as Pastor Evelyn Joshua declared open the prayer session.
Right from the first touch, manifestations began to happen as souls were rescued from ancient altars, minds released from darkness to light and the name of Jesus silenced every tormenting voice.
As the servants of God stretched forth their hands, the people’s cries ascended to Heaven and demonic thrones collapsed.

And Their Bondage Was Broken!
Starting the Mass Prayer session, Evangelist Joseph told the people to declare: “My right to receive is based on the Blood of Jesus and the fire of the Holy Ghost.” He prayed: “All contrary spirits, evil spirits – anywhere you are: Out!”
Evangelist James told the people to pray: “You unclean spirit, family idol operating in my life – Out, in the name of Jesus! You contrary spirit – Out, by the fire of the Holy Ghost!”
Taking his turn, Evangelist Chisom charged the people to pray: “You demon – anywhere you are operating in my life – my body is not your dwelling place. Out, in the name of Jesus! You sickness, disease – anywhere you are in my blood, in my kidneys – Out, in the name of Jesus!”
Evangelist Ope asked the people to pray: “Every spirit blocking my business, my breakthrough – Out, by the fire of the Holy Ghost!”
Pastor Evelyn Joshua prayed: “We command every chain to be broken! Chain of affliction, chain of disease – be broken! Be delivered! Be healed in your body, soul, spirit! Be freed from every bondage, from every shackle! Be blessed! Receive, in the name of Jesus!”
The woman of God continued: “Be blessed! Be delivered! Freedom in your home, work, marriage, career! Be freed! Breakthrough in your life, finances, marriage, career! Peace in your heart, in your home, in your nation, in the name of Jesus Christ!”
Finally, she led the people to pray: “Son of David, have mercy on me! Let Your mercy, Your compassion, Your favour speak for me! I am healed! I am delivered! I am linked up with God!” She also asked them to say: “I am no longer condemned! Fear and failure are things of the past! Lord Jesus Christ, come into my heart and dwell in there. I am a sinner. Wash me with Your Blood and save my soul today.”

Nobathembu Runs For Joy!
Sometime in December 2020, Nobathembu suffered a fracture. “I stayed in hospital for three weeks,” she informed congregants on May 16, 2025. Barely a year later, she fell in the bathroom and sustained another injury that forced her to start using crutches. “Life was difficult for me – I had to rely on my son for help after having metal inserted in my legs,” she disclosed. In 2021, however, she got the Anointing Water, which she started ministering prayerfully on herself. “I got better day by day,” she reported.
And when The SCOAN Team visited South Africa in August 2022, Nobathembu made her way to the venue of the programme. On receiving a touch of healing, she broke into a run that showed her excitement at the perfect healing that she had just received. “Place your trust in God,” she advised others, flanked by her equally excited and grateful son.
Stella No More Troubled By Arthritis!
Troubled by arthritis, Stella had been having a miserable time for many months, stuck with braces to aid her movement. “I kept feeling severe pain in my waist and knees,” she said on May 16, 2025, “and I couldn’t do anything for myself.” She had visited the hospital but hadn’t quite found relief in medications. In August 2022, Stella received prayer as The SCOAN Evangelists ministered in South Africa. “I received a touch and the Lord healed me instantly,” she testified in high spirits. Since then, she has been living without the trouble of arthritis. She advised others to trust in God. Her daughter confirmed the testimony and urged others to trust in God.
And Marlene Gets A Baby Of Her Own!
Marlene had been battling with infertility for a while. Although she had suffered two miscarriages, she believed that the Lord would answer her prayer for a child. Marlene had fallen pregnant but scans couldn’t find the baby in her womb. In 2024, she went to The SCOAN for prayer. “Pastor Evelyn Joshua prayed for me and gave us the Anointing Water,” she recalled on May 16, 2025. On returning home, the Mozambican had a dream in which she overcame the demon that had been eating up her babies.
Shortly afterwards, Marlene got pregnant again and the power of the Almighty saw her through the pregnancy. On the way to the hospital, Marlene had had her baby inside the vehicle – for the glory of God! “Here we are today to glorify the God of Prophet TB Joshua for giving us our own baby,” she said, flanked by her husband. She advised others to keep faith in the Lord. “He will also make a way for you,” she prayed. Her husband also urged others to keep having faith in God. “He will answer you today,” he asserted.
In Record Time, Emmanuel Recovers From Fire Burns!
On April 4, 2023, while at work, Gerald got news that his son had suffered hot water burns. “We were rejected at three hospitals before a fourth one accepted us – into the intensive care unit,” he told congregants on May 16, 2025. By then, his little boy, Emmanuel, had become unconscious, having lost so much of his vitality. After three days of the ministration of the Anointing Water, however, he regained consciousness. “I had a dream in which Jesus Christ promised to give me new clothes so that I could return to playing with my friends,” Emmanuel had told his parents.
“Doctors told us that Emmanuel would need skin grafting, which would take at least a year to heal,” Gerald told congregants at the Expo Centre, Johannesburg. To the glory of God, however, the little boy recovered fully within three months! According to Gerald, the doctors were amazed at the rapid healing, disclosing that they had feared that Emmanuel wouldn’t survive after surgery. Speaking for himself, Emmanuel said that he now feels wonderful! His mother confirmed the testimony, urging other parents to trust in God.
For Jackie’s Family, It’s The Blessings Of A Baby Boy And A Seaside Property!
It was on June 18, 2023 that Jackie had received prayer in The SCOAN as Pastor Evelyn Joshua ministered inside The Arena Of Liberty. She had been praying specifically for a son. She had already had three daughters but had come in faith with a baby item for a male child. “I had refused to get discouraged,” she told congregants on May 16, 2025. Shortly afterwards, Jackie fell pregnant. And nine months later, she gave birth to baby Joshua! Jackie and her husband also testified about God’s blessings in their family since becoming Emmanuel TV Partners. “Now we have a seaside property from which we earn revenue,” he told congregants. He encouraged others to trust in God’s power and to support His work.
“No Words Can Explain How I Feel Now,” Says Woman Who Overcame Miscarriage
Thirty-four-year-old Mohana testified about her gift of the fruit of the womb. Between 2017 and 2022, she had experienced three miscarriages. A month after receiving prayer as a volunteer worker at The SCOAN programme in South Africa in August 2022, Mohana fell pregnant. Because he was unhappy about the blessing, the devil tried to tamper with Mohana’s pregnancy, causing her to start bleeding. “My mother went to The SCOAN to receive prayer on my behalf,” said Mohana on May 16, 2025. After that prayer, the bleeding stopped. Then she went on to have her baby without trouble. “No words can explain how I feel,” she said. She advised others to trust in God and keep praying.
Fruit Of The Womb And Breakthrough Granted!
It was on October 27, 2013 that Lydia received a touch as Prophet TB Joshua ministered the prayer of deliverance. She and her husband had been seeking the fruit of the womb. “We got married in 2006,” she told congregants on May 16, 2025. Her husband was diagnosed with low sperm count and she herself was being attacked by demonic spirits in the dream. On discovering Emmanuel TV, the couple started following the channel.
Eventually, Lydia visited The SCOAN in 2013, followed by her husband a year later. Subsequently, Lydia fell pregnant. Today the couple has 8-year-old John, a brilliant healthy boy, who blessed God for bringing him to the world! “I just want to say that God is good,” he said. Lydia’s husband praised God for healing and delivering him and his wife. He also testified about God’s other blessings in their lives. “I got promoted and money stopped being a problem for us,” he disclosed. The couple encouraged others to trust in God. “Keep on praying,” he stressed.
