When you pay attention to God’s Word, you will be surprised to see your faith grow naturally. No doubt, dining and wining with God is by faith. God wants to be involved in our lives, like a mother. Prayer is a work of faith. You can’t just rise and begin to pray. You can be a man of prayer but not a man of faith. When you are a man of prayer but not a man of faith, you merely say words.
When you see someone praying, be conscious of this: is he really a man of faith? Truly, someone can be a man of prayer but not a man of faith. If a man or woman is not of faith, they will merely be saying words. You will hear yourself, but God will not hear you. The Bible says that when you see that God is reliable, you can put your trust in Him. If you pay attention to God’s Word, you will find that faith comes spontaneously. Therefore, pay attention with all your heart.
Luke 8:22–25 says, “Now it came to pass on a certain day, that He went into a ship with His disciples: and He said unto them, ‘Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.’ And they launched forth. But as they sailed, He fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Master, Master, we perish!’ Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And He said unto them, ‘Where is your faith?’ And they, being afraid, wondered, saying one to another, ‘What manner of man is this! For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him.’” Mark 4:40 also says, “But He said to them, ‘Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?’”
When you see someone praying, it would be too early for you to say, “He must be a child of God” or “He must be a man of faith.” This is because one can be a man of prayer but not a man of faith. Saying words is different from praying prayers. You ask yourself, “Why am I praying without any result?” It is because you are saying words, not praying prayers. To reach God, prayer is the master key, and prayer is a work of faith. If you pay attention to God’s Word, you will find that faith comes spontaneously. You have to examine all things in the light of God’s Word.
People of God, the challenges we are facing are meant to draw us closer to Him. However, is that how we are actually viewing things today? How long will it take us to realize that we lack faith?
Brethren, God wants to do awesome things, but because of a lack of faith, those things cannot be done through us. Remember, prayer is the master key and a work of faith. If you pay attention to God’s Word, you will find that faith comes spontaneously. God is asking you today, “Where is your faith?” If you don’t have faith, God cannot address you. Stop doubting and start believing.
I leave you in faith, and I hope to meet you there. Remember, better is not good enough; the best is yet to come.
Prayer: Lord, I believe; help me overcome my unbelief and continue to teach me how to pay attention to Your Word, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
