Proverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
In today’s world, where everything seems unsettled and unstable, where change is constant, many end up worried. The uncertainties that come with the gift of life cause us to worry and doubt God’s promises for us. As Christians, the Bible is the standard for our lives; it is our means of survival during temptations and trials. The Bible assures us that the Lord will give us rest for our souls, and we find that rest when we surrender everything to God. We find rest when we lay everything at His feet—not just our worries or troubles but also ourselves—without withholding anything. When we withhold a part of ourselves from God, we give the devil an opportunity to strike.
Total surrender to God is acknowledging that we have no power of our own. This is simply the act of letting go and letting God take control of everything. Total surrender to God is possible when we believe in Him and realise that God is reliable. The act of continuous surrendering is letting go of yourself and acknowledging that there is someone greater than you. This simply means that we must choose to submit everything to God every day. As Christians, let us lay everything at God’s feet, including ourselves; this is how we find rest.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to trust You more. Help me to surrender everything to You, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
