ETERNITY IN VIEW

Colossians 3:2-3 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Eternal life is the heart of our calling as Christians. Though we live in this world, we are not truly of it; our eyes are set on a heavenly home that endures forever. Our lives were made for God’s glory, and every day is a chance to honour Him. The uncertainty of life reminds us to be ready for eternity at any moment. None of us knows when our final day will come. Are you prepared to meet God? Each person must humbly admit their need for a Saviour, recognizing our sin and the necessity of being born again.

We must resist the temptation to compare ourselves with others. Scripture reminds us that “when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise” (2 Corinthians 10:12). True peace is not found in achievement or comparison, but in accepting what Christ has already accomplished for us.

Jesus bore our sins, triumphed at the Cross and continues to intercede for us. The Bible instructs us to live in the world but not let its values shape our hearts. This is possible only by regularly receiving and obeying God’s Word.

Worldly pleasures may try to lure us away, but God’s truth is our Anchor. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, as Galatians 3:13-14 tells us, and His victory at Calvary provides our victory today.

The ultimate purpose of life is to live for Christ, honouring Him in every circumstance so that we might one day inherit eternal life and reign with Him in glory. Let us remember: Our choices and faith today will be remembered by generations yet to come. Broken lives are still useful in God’s hands. Emmanuel—God with us—remains our hope.

Prayer: I trust in You, O Lord; my times are in Your hands.
