Death was defeated on the cross

1 Corinthians 15: 54 says,
“So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”

What is the problem you are facing today that can not be swallowed up? Your sickness will be swallowed up by good health. Your poverty will be swallowed up by blessing. Your test will be swallowed up by testimonies. Why do we have this assurance? Because Jesus lives and never say goodbye!

No matter what was going on in Jesus’ life, He kept His focus. His motive and objectives were fixed. He wanted what God wanted and He wanted it for the reason God wanted it. He knew where He knew who He was and where He was going. As such, when He was flogged, tortured and humiliated before He was brutally murdered, He never lost His focus. He knew His death would accomplish salvation for humankind. The hour of Christ’s death was the beginning of His glorification and our redemption. The Bible says He made a decision that created an incredible future. He was willing to go through a season of pain in order to create an eternity of gain. This is the decision of a champion. The Holy Spirit always brings us to a place of decision but He will not decide for us. No devil can upturn the plan of God for your life.

Many seem to desire to know what it takes to be saved but are not ready to do it. Sometimes we must do things that we hate in order to create something we love. Our Saviour had every reason to despair because He was innocent of what He was accused of. Instead of despairing or mumuring, He chose to find out what God was saying about His situation. He found out that the Cross was necessary for His crown. This gave Him the necessary fortitude and courage to stand the pain and shame.

Jesus had confidence in His own resurrection and that enabled Him to endure His crucifixion. Jesus knew that what was to happen to Him was not by chance but ordained by Heaven. Nothing can come against us without God’s knowledge and approval. If God leads you to it, He will lead you through it. Don’t think it strange and doubt your Guard. When you know where you are going, whatever happens to you midway cannot change your focus.

Jesus knew that the embarrassment or shame was for a moment, so he was able to endure His crucifixion. Do you feel as if life has cheated you? If you do, look in faith to Jesus. He was unjustly nailed to a cross so you could be forgiven of your sin and have a fulfilling life. As you choose to live by faith in Him, He will deliver you from those feelings of futility. Don’t lose focus; the hour of your trials marks the dawn of your testimony. Jesus has risen!

‎Emmanuel!

‎Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe you died on the Cross for my sin. Help me maintain my position in you, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
