Wise Man Daniel addressed the congregation saying that we must stay focused on our goals and true to our purpose, despite snow or rain. We must not be preoccupied with our present situation; we must stay current. Aptly entitling his message, Avoid The Trap Of Looking Back, Wise Man Daniel referred his listeners to Genesis 19:1, 17 and 26 as the proof text. He then explained that looking back to where we are coming from instead of focusing on where we are going is dangerous and used Lot’s wife as a Biblical warning. He reminded his listeners that Christ was a forward looker and that discovery is for forward lookers.
He said that unfavorable circumstances are the arguments satan uses to make the people of God question their sonship – as if such afflictions or situations would not be subdued or overcome. Satan aims to check our faith in the word of God and to make us question the truth in the word of God.
To look back is to open oneself up to the impurities and corruption of the world, which one had been delivered from. Jesus Christ does not want us to look back. He wants us to be forward looking; knowing that, looking back is a trap of satan- the devil. Jesus Christ holds our future. If you want to be successful in life, do not look back; it is a dangerous thing to do, unless it is meant to glorify God Almighty for what He has done in your life. Wise Man Daniel concluded his message by encouraging the congregation, “Don’t let your bad experiences wipe you out. Turn your scars to stars”.
BE ENCOURAGED THAT GOD CORRECTS YOU
Prophet T.B. Joshua opened to 2 Corinthians 12:7 for illustration with Apostle Paul. Apostle Paul knew that his challenges were to correct him from the path of pride and conceit. Challenges, he said, could mean any unfavourable situation in life. The prophet then enjoined his listeners not to be discouraged when God corrects them. On the contrary, he went on, ‘Be encouraged that God loves you enough to correct you. The more the correction, the more your greatness is.’ Whatever your challenges are, he added, they are a way of correction, to strengthen your desire for God. You should see your challenges as a reason for believing God just as you see your good times. Apostle Paul, like Job, saw the thorn in his flesh as a reason for believing God just as he saw his good times. The prophet reminded the congregation that as Christians, they must be ready to relate to Jesus Christ in hard as well as in good times, adding that only religious people see God in a bad light during hard times.
DELIVERANCE BREAKS ADDICTION TO EATING MARKERS
To lift up the faith of his listeners, some of the events of the previous Sunday service were shown on video before each of the testimonies were given. Among these was that of Mrs Miriam Akande’s daughter, 13-year-old Miracle Akande. She was brought to the church the previous Sunday for deliverance from the addiction to sniffing and eating marker pens. At the end of the video clip, the woman and her daughter, Miracle came out thanking God for the successful deliverance of the child. Mrs Akande told her listeners that for the one week after her deliverance, Miracle never sniffed or ate marker pens any more and she thanked God for the wonderful deliverance. The daughter herself, Miracle said to have wept to her mother after the deliverance for the regrettable addiction, happily told the congregation that the urge in her to sniff and eat marker pens had disappeared. She then advised all parents to commit their children into the hands of Jesus Christ, our best Friend.
UKRAINIAN PASTOR AND WIFE BLESSED WITH FRUIT OF THE WOMB
The next was a testimony by Pastor Dmytro Oleshko of the nation Ukraine. The 39-year-old Ukrainian told his listeners that he and his spouse had been looking for the fruit of the womb despite their efforts in various ways and places to change the situation. It was in the continued struggle to end the barrenness that he came to The SCOAN seeking God for a solution. Having the opportunity to receive the Anointing Water, on returning home, he and his wife ministered the Anointing Water and prayed. A few weeks after meeting as a couple, visited their doctor and joyfully discovered that his wife was pregnant. The Anointing Water ended their barrenness, worry and struggle to bear a child in addition to their first one already 18 years old. He ended the testimony giving hope to all those in a similar situation to look up to God who has an answer to every problem.
ANOINTING WATER VOIDS OPERATION
Next, the Fagbenro family stunned the congregation with their testimony. Facing an operation because of her narrow cervix, Mrs Fagbenro, accompanied by her husband, came to The SCOAN to seek the face of the Lord. After praying and receiving the Anointing Water, Mrs Fagbenro delivered her baby safely without an operation. Both the doctor and the nurses in attendance were surprised at her miraculous delivery after the ministration of The Anointing Water. The Fagbenro family thanked God for His mercy in their lives.
ANOINTING WATER CORRECTS BREECH BIRTH
received the Anointing Water and went to their hotel where they prayed with it. Moments later, Mrs Kalu sensed labour pain and they rushed to a nearby hospital for attention. The doctor however told her that she needed an operation which would cost N250,000. Unable to come to terms with what the doctor had said, especially with regard to her ministration of the Anointing Water, Mrs Kalu decided to go to another hospital. As she stepped out of the first hospital to hail a vehicle for the next, labour overtook her and before she knew it, her baby was out, despite the narrow cervix, thanks to the Anointing Water. Her miraculous delivery was in front of the first hospital to tell them that God’s ways are different from man’s ways. The couple thanked the Lord for the wife’s safe delivery.ANOINTING WATER ENDS 13 YEARS OF BARRENNESS
Mr and Mrs Ezonfade Polokowei of Warri, Nigeria had come to The SCOAN with the problem of 13 years of barrenness because of low sperm count and tube blockage. Receiving the Anointing Water and praying over it, they met as a couple. The wife conceived the same month to give birth to a bouncing Abraham. They thanked Jesus for using the Anointing Water to end their barrenness and usher them into parenthood.
PROPHECY BRINGS FORTH A BABY
The next event had to do with a prophecy given by Prophet T.B. Joshua some months previously when he called a woman wearing a wig to come forward. He told her to forgive the man as God was about to do something about her case. He further revealed to her that she played with a baby in her dream but that people wanted to cause a rift in their marriage against God’s will. He however assured her that those people would not succeed in their bid as her current marriage was from God. The prophet then prayed for her after which she met her husband as a couple. The meeting resulted in the pregnancy that became the subject of her testimony. She thanked God for saving her marriage and blessing her with a pregnancy.
LAYING OF HANDS CAGED EVIL SPIRIT
A woman for whom Wise Man Christopher had prayed for, after efforts by her to avoid the wise man failed, gave an interesting testimony. Reacting to the prayer by Prophet T.B. Joshua, the evil spirit in her told listeners that he was a destroyer but had been caged as a result of the wise man praying for the woman. It was his plan to destroy the woman but her husband brought her to the church. The spirit added that his heart had been removed in addition to being caged. He added that his appeal for water to cool himself and a release from the cage had been ignored. He described himself as a giant man from the river. Wise Man Christopher then commanded the evil spirit out of the woman in Jesus’ name. In her regained self-awareness, the woman, Mrs Melvin Onumajuru, greeted the prophet warmly, recognised and acknowledged her husband for the first time and thanked God for her deliverance. Asked how she felt outside the cage, she denied ever being in a cage. Without prompting, her husband began to stagger and, after spinning round a number of times, fell down in deliverance. To his surprise, he told the congregation that it was the first time that he had fallen under anointing. In their testimony, the couple who came from Cotonu, told their listeners that after the deliverance all the nightmares and spiritual husband that dogged their lives vanished. They both thanked God for their deliverance.
STARNDED GIRL RECEIVES ASSISTANCE AND REVELATION
As he laid hands on the international visitors, Prophet T. B. Joshua listened to an appeal for a financial assistance from a woman who described herself as broke, stranded and roaming about, having been abandoned by her boyfriend in Ghana. She added that he quartered her in a hotel for two years but abandoned her because of the bill that he could not pay. The prophet then prophesied into her case, revealing that she had disappointed her parents in South Africa by running away to Ghana without telling them. The prophet added that she was responsible for the situation she was in due to her wayward life. In her testimony, Miss Zama Mkhwanazi, a university graduate of Criminology and citizen of South Africa, confessed that she had travelled to Ghana without the consent of her parents, with a supposed fiancé who later maltreated and abandoned her after lodging her in a hotel for two years. She went from one man to another in Ghana until she came across Emmanuel TV that prompted her to come to The SCOAN. A problem that resulted from her lifestyle, according to her, was psychological disturbance, which made her people-shy. The prophet promised her a flight ticket and money to go back to Sought Africa to apologise and reconcile with her parents.
MASS PRAYER BREAKS CONSTANT EXPERIENCE OF UNFAVOURABLE SITUATIONS
In the second service, the prophet talked briefly about what he described as ‘the constant experience’ of poverty, sickness, limitation in progress, marital instability and other unfavourable situations and proceeded in a mass prayer to deliver both congregants and Emmanuel TV viewers worldwide. As he spiritedly led the mass prayer, the congregants, many of whom vomited and fell in deliverance, repeated after him. He urged viewers to lay hands on the screen, as distance was no barrier. He advised the congregants to reveal their past blessings by confessing them to their neighbours. The devil, does not want us to acknowledge our blessings of the past. On the contrary, the devil reminds us only of those things we do not have. This leads some of us to frustration. The prophet, taking his prayer point from Hebrew 12 :15, also prayed for nations for the same reason. The congregation dispersed at closing time, happy that they had been blessed and delivered from the ‘constant experience’ of unfavourable situations.

Ever since I started watching your programme on TV, i have become convinced that you, truly are a Man of God. i believe God has annointed you in order to show the devil that he is powerless.
Here in Botswana, someone is writing saying you are a fraud and you hypnotise people. I think it is the same kind of message from the devil which is being peddled in the local papers that the bible is a distorted account of stories by Israelites when they were in exile in Babylon.
the stories go on to say The God that we worship is not the one ho created mankind, but there were gods who did that!! What i find deceptive about the authors of such messages is that they never mention the devil/satan.
Anyway enough of that my Leader. I know that you are aware of such things and you are better placed to know how to deal with them.
I belong to a church here in Botswana called Jehova’s Potters’ House Assembly led by Pastor Keorapetse. But before that I spent my Sundays in front of the television watching you and worshipping with you.
I must confess that despite the fact that I now regard myself as a Christian, I have got problems that are hindering me from attaining the ultimate satisfaction of being a child of God.
1) I smoke. I still do not know why I cannot quit.
2) I still have a wandering eye: I ogle women and sometimes wants to take them to bed even though I am a Christian and also betrothed to my fiancee.
3) I make excuses that border on lying. I do not tell the truth all the time. Because of my desperation, i always end up asking someone to offer me money saying it is for transport, whereas I know I want to buy something to eat or take to my fiancee.
I am trying hard not to look back at my past as your message says, but my past keep coming on to me with such force I end up just turning around and glancing back there. To start with, I am in serious debts- over US$5 000. i owe furniture stores and people around town from whom I took money with the promise that I will pay them the following month. It was last year, when my world fell apart. I am a freelance journalist based in Francistown, the second city in northern Botswana . I had been making a steady income through stories I was writing for a local publication, but then towards end of last year, only a few of my stories could make inroads into the paper. I started defaulting on my installments and other obligations such I had to move out of an electrified one-and-half room I was occupying into a small room without electricity. I cook in the open space using firewood because I cannot afford a stove.
I live with my fiancee and we have three children. we have sent the children to stay with our parents in the village because we are unable to provide for them. It could have been better if my fiancee was working, but she is not.
Nowadays, we hardly have food and the neighbours have started laughing at us. We are facing humiliation after humiliation. The furniture people are constantly at my place demanding payment. I keep promising that I will pay, but come month end, what I get is so little i am unable to pay.
Father, these problems remind me of what I was before I gave my life to Jesus. All I need these days is to worship my God at my local church and pay tithes, offerings and any other contribution I can make for my church, but I am failing that as well.
Hopefully, things will change at the end of this month, but I can tell you that right now until then, I do not know what I am going to eat. My fiancee is also hungry and depends on her younger siblings (a brother and sister) who live nearby. but they give her something to eat so grudgingly, she wishes she would not bother them anymore.
We dress in worn out clothes and my fiancee nowadays is ashamed to go to church because she only has ill-fitting and threadbare clothes. I will be going for worshipping in the evening, but besides being badly dressed, I will have no money to offer.
In the Mighty Name of Our Lord Jesus, I humbly beseech you to pray for us and also assist us, if there is a possibility that you can do so.
