Praying from rest means praying with confidence in God’s faithfulness, even before you see the answer. It is choosing to trust His promises rather than being consumed by worry, fear, or the pressure to make things happen in your own strength.

Proof Text: Mark 11:24
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Prayer is a conversation between you and God. It is how we communicate with Him and make our requests known. Praying from rest means praying from the assurance of God’s Word. It means that when you have asked God for something, you believe that you have received it according to His Word.
Prayer itself is an act of faith. How do you pray to a God you do not believe in? Why do you pray if you do not believe He can answer? Prayer is not something you do merely to fulfil all righteousness. You pray because you believe in God and trust His Word. The devil’s bait is to draw you into prayer with guilt, burdens, accusations and condemnation. These things weaken you and discourage you from praying.
No one can sustain a life of prayer when prayer becomes a place of constant condemnation. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28–30 that we should come to Him with our burdens because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. But what does Paul say? Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”
When you receive Jesus, you are free from condemnation. The enemy wants to take you back to the place you came from, enforcing the law of your past. But in Christ, you have received a new life through the Spirit. Faith does not mean that you will never face challenges. It means that you remain confident in God despite what you see.
What does the Word of God say about you? This is the question you must ask yourself. You worry and fear so much, yet you have a Bible filled with promises that reveal God’s faithfulness. How can you receive a promise and still live like a stranger to your inheritance? The enemy wants to keep you from enjoying the confidence and freedom you have in Christ. If you do not believe what God has said about you, you will struggle to live in the reality of that truth.
People of God, praying from rest does not mean you will never face trials. It means you do not allow those trials to destroy your confidence in God.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your promises. I thank You for the beautiful things written in Your Word about me. Give me the grace to hold on to Your promises for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
