Bible Verse: Romans 12:2 (NIV)
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
People of God, the Book of Romans speaks about renewing the mind in order to discover God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will. Mind renewal happens when we read and pay close attention to God’s Word. The more we take in the Word and meditate on it, the more we are transformed.
Many of us desire to live joyful lives and lives of impact. Many desire to please God and do His will. Yet, more often than not, we find ourselves struggling. Some become tired and give up, while others are barely holding on.
However, the solution to our predicament and struggles lies in the management of our minds. Mind management is the first priority of an overcomer. If we desire to live joyful lives, we must take care of our minds. If we desire to make an impact and do God’s will, we must take care of our minds.
A person cannot rise above their thoughts. We build our world, vision, and dreams in our minds. A mind without proper management remains far from the change it desires and keeps praying for, making that change seem as though it will never come. A person who manages the mind is one who meditates on God’s Word day and night; whatever such a person does prospers.
Christians, the Bible is filled with God’s thought. God wants us to have the same mind that Christ had. He wants us to live transformed lives. Therefore, the mind of an overcomer is a mind that is carefully guarded and properly managed. It is a mind dominated by God’s Word. Let us guard our minds diligently, for what fills our minds eventually shapes our lives.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the grace to hear Your Word. Give me the grace to manage my mind. Help me to meditate on Your Word, O Lord. I want to live a transformed life; help me to be transformed. Help me to have the same mind as Christ Jesus. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen!
