Proof Texts: James 1:22
Nowadays, we have so much wisdom and knowledge about the Bible. However, that knowledge seems not to be according to the true intent of the Word. The Bible says the Spirit of God will be released to the degree you stand in reverence, in honour of His Word.
You have to begin by believing, confessing and acting on God’s Word. Then, you can bring Jesus on the scene. This is what our faith requires, for believing, confessing and acting on God’s Word brings Jesus on the scene instantly.
We have religious people and we have Christians. There is a difference between the two. As a Christian, you must be led by the Spirit of God, who inspires us from time to time, moment to moment.
As a Christian, you must speak according to the Word. There is the language of today and the language of the Bible. This is the reason you have to be genuine. You have to be born again according to His Word. If your Christian life is not based on His Word and Spirit, your life will remain idle, meaningless and empty. You can only be a Christian according to God’s Spirit.
People of God, the words you speak determine the life you enjoy. Of a truth, the thoughts of your heart will determine the life you enjoy. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:20-21 that a man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth and with the increase of his lips shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The reason is that your mouth is a revealer of the belief in your heart. What is going on in your heart? Your heart means your spirit. If you don’t engage your heart, your heart will engage itself. People of God, you must engage your heart by sowing to the spirit. When your heart, your spirit act upon the Word by meditation, you bring Jesus on the scene. Meditation in God’s Word brings revelation.
As a Christian, you must make God’s Word an integral part of you by meditating on it always. Our heart can only act on the Word through meditation. For you to be great in the Lord, you must have a great habit. Habit means time for yourself to meditate on the Word. Prayer cannot work without your spirit joining itself to the Word. There is no prayer without your heart acting upon the Word. Always remember this: Prayer is the master key.
Prayer: O Holy Spirit, help me to stay true to Your Word and to live by Your Word, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen!
