TB Joshua Sermon: What Is Faith? Episode 2
Tb Joshua Preaching a Spirit-filled Sermon at the SCOAN Altar

In our previous post on TB Joshua‘s sermon, What Is Faith? Episode 1, we looked at the foundation of faith—what it means and why it’s essential to our relationship with God. But as many believers discover, understanding faith is only part of the journey. Living by faith, especially when prayers seem unanswered or progress feels slow, can be deeply challenging.

In this post, discover why unanswered prayers don’t mean rejection, and how the enemy uses doubt to shake your confidence. Be encouraged to grow in faith, hold on to truth, and trust God’s timing—because being a child of God isn’t based on outcomes, but on identity.

TB Joshua Sermon: The Degree of Faith to Receive

In one of TB Joshua’s sermons, he cited Matthew 17:16 and offered words of encouragement about the degree of faith required to receive and the need for us not to misjudge ourselves because of the outcome of our prayers. He said, “It is never proper to base faith on our improvement after prayer.”

We shouldn’t say, “Because my prayer is not answered, I’m not a child of God.” Probably, you don’t have the degree or measure of faith to receive that thing.

This does not mean you are not a child of God; that does not make you an unbeliever. It means you just need to continue to press on and keep growing in faith so that you can receive what you need from God.

This is one of the subtle strategies the devil uses to trouble the children of God. Even when you stumble, you are still a child of God. The enemy knows when you are not deeply rooted in the Word, and he patiently waits for an opportunity.

When you pray and do not immediately receive an answer, he whispers lies: “Can’t you see? You’re not truly a child of God.”

Then your heart begins to feel unsettled. These are the schemes and tactics Satan uses to sow doubt and confusion among God’s people.

However, remember this truth: the fact that your prayers seem unanswered does not mean God has rejected you. It does not mean you are not His child.

Hold fast to His Word. He is faithful!
