If you take your time to read the Scriptures, you will agree with me that Christ and His Word are one: the Word dominating us produces prayer fruit results. Truly, it is the Word dominating us that produces prayer fruit, not the Word committed to memory, which is of course valuable in itself but cannot produce prayer fruit. How can the Word dwell in our hearts? Ephesians 3:17 says, “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith and I pray you being rooted and established in love.” This means that Christ dwells in our hearts through faith. The Word dwells in our hearts when we read it slowly, attentively and repeatedly, without holding grudges.
John 15:7 says, “If you remain in me and my word in you ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.” Through the Word we know Jesus Christ. It is the Word that has thought us the value of the name Jesus Christ, the authority of the name and our legal right to use it. The Word dominating us brings Jesus to the scene, leading to instant healing. This means it is not only committing the Word to memory but also letting the Word become an integral part of our being. When the Word becomes an integral part of our being, faith is formed. And when you call on the name Jesus, it comes on the scene at once. If the Word of God is dominating your spirit, it will influence your conduct and behaviour. Without the Word you are without Christ because Christ and the the Word are one.
Meditation in the Word is a visit with God. As we meditate on the Word it becomes part of us and we become a part of it. We are only made spiritual by living in the Word and by the Word living in us. Knowing Jesus is not only seeing His works but learning His ways. A man gets what he prays for because the Word is living on his lips. As we begin to do the Word, God begins to work in us and through us. God cannot open the door of blessing, salvation freedom to the one whose Bible is shut. So, read your Bible with devotion. Take your time to splash around in the Word of God to absorb it, to discover what the Lord has to say to you each day. You are in it and I am in it; most importantly, God is in it. Indeed, in the Word you meet God face to face.
I leave you in faith and hope to meet you in faith.
Prayer: O Holy Spirit, Your Word is truth and light. Continue to teach me how to make it part of my life, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
