Bible Verse: John 15:7 (KJV)
“If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
Today, many people claim to be Christians, yet they do not know what God’s Word says concerning them. They claim to be Spirit-filled Christians but lack the manifestation of the Living Word in their lives.
God’s Word tells us in the Book of John that we remain in Him through His Word and His Spirit. The Word and the Spirit are one and inseparable; we cannot separate God’s Word from His Spirit.
If we say we are Spirit-filled, God’s Word must dwell in us, take root within us, and produce good fruit. The Word is a tool in the hands of the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not respond with prayer and fasting; He responded with the Word of God.
When we come face to face with the enemy of our souls, our only weapon against his schemes, lies, deceit, perversions, and folly is the written Word. Without the written Word, we stand little chance against the enemy.
To be Spirit-filled is not merely to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, but also to manifest His character. When the Holy Spirit dwells within us, He helps us develop a holy character.
If we truly want to be Spirit-filled, we must get to know God’s Word. God’s Word is a treasure.
God’s Word builds spiritual consciousness in the heart of the believer. A believer without God’s Word is like a farmer without tools.
People of God, it is necessary for us to know God’s Word. Prayer and fasting must go hand in hand with Bible study. Remember, scriptural prayer releases the power of God.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your Word. I ask, O Lord, that as I read Your Word, You will grant me understanding so that I may know You better. Give me the grace to know Your Word more and more, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
