The SCOAN Sunday Service: The SCOAN Choir

The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) was filled with joy and spiritual expectation as believers gathered at the Arena of Liberty to celebrate Palm Sunday 2026.

The atmosphere radiated faith and reverence as the congregation collectively hailed the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Zechariah 9:9 set the tone for the service: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

The service commenced with a call for worshippers to approach God with hearts of gratitude and total surrender. Congregants recited Romans 12:1 in unison: “…offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.” The moment of collective devotion prepared the atmosphere for a powerful outpouring of God’s power.

The congregation’s worship erupted into glorious expressions of reverence to the King of Kings.

Songs such as “To You Alone My Spirit Yields,” “I Am Not Alone/I Am In Your Hand,” and “We Cry Abba Father/Hallowed Be Your Name” filled the Arena of Liberty with heavenly adoration.

Believers remembered the triumphant entry of Jesus, singing songs in celebration, and declaring, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Mark 11:9).

The SCOAN Sunday Service: The Journey to Destiny

LISTEN TO THE SERMON TITLED: The Journey To Destiny

Evangelist Chisom came to the altar with a warm greeting: “Happy Palm Sunday to you all!” He introduced the title of his sermon, “The Journey to Destiny”, anchored on Matthew 20:18-19: “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.”

He explained, “Jesus Christ knew that entering Jerusalem was part of fulfilling His destiny. On this journey, He would experience both triumph and rejection—the world would both hail Him with shouts of ‘Hosanna!’ and condemn Him with cries of ‘Crucify Him!’ Yet He remained steadfast, focused on His mission, undeterred by public opinion or worldly acceptance.”

Evangelist Chisom emphasised that many believers today fail to reach their destiny because they allow temporary challenges, distractions, or the opinions of people to dictate their actions. “When God gives you a vision, do not reduce it for the sake of acceptance,” he warned. “Stay faithful, stay focused, and let God’s promise guide every step of your journey.”

He drew lessons from Joseph’s life in Genesis 37–50, noting that Joseph’s path to his destiny was fraught with betrayal by his brothers, false accusations, and imprisonment. Yet Joseph did not abandon his faith or lose focus. “Whatever happens mid-way,” he said, “is only to preserve you for redemption, prepare you for future responsibilities, and equip you for greater positions. God’s timing is perfect; He is not a man who lies (Numbers 23:19). Hold on to His promises!”

Character is The Key

Evangelist Chisom elaborated on the importance of controlling one’s attitude amidst challenges. “Life will present situations beyond your control,” he said. “Your attitude determines whether you will rise or fall. Jesus teaches us in Luke 17:1 that stumbling blocks will come, but your response will define your success.” He encouraged the congregation to adopt resilience, patience, and unwavering faith when faced with trials.

Drawing from Luke 10:19, he reassured believers: “I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” He said, “In your journey, the threats and obstacles are real, but God has granted you authority to overcome them. No situation, no enemy, no affliction can stop the fulfilment of your God-given destiny.”

Evangelist Chisom also explored the spiritual dynamics of focus, warning that broken focus is a primary reason many believers fail. He explained that distraction, doubt, and discouragement are tools of the enemy to derail destiny. “Your mind must remain disciplined,” he advised. “Prioritise God’s vision for your life above temporary pleasures or societal pressure.”

He concluded by highlighting that the journey to destiny is neither easy nor predictable: “Expect challenges, opposition, and even betrayal. But remember, God does not promise a path without trials; He promises that He will be with you. Trials are not punishments; they are preparation for your greatness. The same God who saw Jesus through crucifixion will see you through your own journey.”
