This child is destined to cause the rising and falling of many. God has been fighting for me right from the beginning. That is why you can’t hear anything from me. If you slap me, my God will fight for me.” – Prophet T.B. Joshua

In a thought-provoking message, the man of God admonished Christians to always be wary of the future, adding that since tomorrow belongs to God, it would be unwise for anyone to look down on his fellow man. He explained that the people we fight or underrate today could be our saviours tomorrow: “Many have imprisoned their saviour tomorrow because of wrong done now. Check yourself – what they have done is bad; they might have committed destruction, stealing, etc. but you sentenced them to death or prison. These are the people that might be your saviours tomorrow. Tomorrow is something you don’t understand, a mystery you don’t understand but because you are claiming your right, you sentenced him to prison. You will need a saviour tomorrow and he will be there. He could be a saviour to your children. This is why the Bible says that you should forgive those who have wronged you. You say, “Father, forgive me” – have you forgiven those who wronged you? The condition is you have to forgive.”

Acknowledging the fact that his ministry had come under attack by people in the past, the man of God maintained that he had learnt not to respond to insults and quarrels so that he would avoid a situation where his future relationship with his traducers would be destroyed beyond repair. “It’s all about Jesus, not about me, my knowledge or my gift. God has been taking care of me. But it’s a pity that a lot might have been deceived. Anytime there is healing going on, they cry. When we ask why they are crying, not thanking God, they say they wanted to bring their mother here but were deceived and she is late now over a simple thing. You hear many stories like that.”

The man of God also told congregants to be of good cheer whenever their good works come under attack or face difficult times. According to him, the hard and difficult times are a test of their faith in God and that it will make them appreciate success when it comes. He cited the challenges he faced when he was broadcasting his miracles on some Nigerian television stations and how the ban on the broadcast of miracles led him to found Emmanuel TV which is currently among the most popular Christian TV stations in the world: “They told me that miracles were banned on national TV. I removed my program from all the stations. I went to the prayer mountain and God said, “I am aware; I want you to discover yourself”. God asked me to open a TV channel and God said, “Emmanuel TV”. I changed it by myself as “SCOAN TV”. The cloud went dark and God said, “When you wake up, change the name to Emmanuel TV”. I was warned by God. That was how Emmanuel TV started. If I didn’t quit, would I have discovered myself? No. Emmanuel TV is the most popular Christian channel all over the world today. Don’t cry, don’t lament. God is speaking to you through your situation.”

Concluding, he reminded Christians that life on earth is unstable. He urged them to see trouble as part of the journey, adding that it is not good for things to be too smooth in the life of anyone: “You are not in Heaven; you are in this world. If things are going smoothly, no challenges, it is not good for the trouble to come in a later day. You have a brother who is in a place of authority; when you want to fall, he will help you. When you want something, you just make a phone call, sit down and you will get what you want. I am afraid when he will not be there for you.”

Earlier, in her message titled GOD SEARCHES THE HEART, Evangelist Bolaji reminded Christians that rather than look at outward appearances, God searches the heart of man, adding that it is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit when it is properly managed: “The great thing that God looks at and requires in a man is his heart. Why? The heart is the home where God dwells. If the heart is the home where God dwells what is the state of your mind? Your mind must be at its best for God. Is your heart at its best for God? Sin is the disease of the soul. When we sin, satan has a foothold in our heart. Remember, the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in an unholy place. Therefore, our heart must be made spiritual in order to be at its best for God. The Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to act on your souls to produce the virtue of Christian character.”

She summed up her message with the following advice: “The management of our heart and its thoughts is fundamental to our faith and holy living. We, Christians, take hold of our hearts – where to go, what to say. If you don’t take hold of your heart, your past will take hold of your heart and control it. With your heart, you see Jesus – you work with Him.  Engage your heart now with prayer – Oh Holy Spirit, take more of me; give me more of You.”

TESTIMONIES

NINE YEARS OF STAGNATION GIVE WAY TO A GLORIOUS ELEVATION

He had received his last promotion in 2008 and since that time, he had remained on the same rank with many of his subordinates overtaking him in the promotion race. What was even more disheartening for Mr Abraham Bankole was the fact that he usually did very well in the exams only to end up not being considered for promotion. Though he was psychologically affected by the recurrent failure to get promotion, he had made up his mind to seek the face of God, declaring that his promotion could only be delayed and not denied.

With that strong conviction, he headed to The SCOAN and received the Morning Water as he prepared to sit for another promotion examination. As he prayed and ministered the Morning Water, he told God that the examination he was preparing for would be the last he would ever sit for before his promotion. During the examination, Mr Bankole went into the restroom and ministered the Morning Water, asking God for His favour and grace. And according to the substance of his petition, God finally smiled on him.

When the result of the examination was released, his name was included among those promoted. From the rank of a Chief Superintendent of Customs (a rank he had remained on for nine years), Mr Bankole was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Comptroller of Customs. In his capacity as an Assistant Comptroller of Customs, he supervises a lot of officers and has the powers to carry out very strategic and important duties, such as vetoing and authorising the release of goods. His promotion was also backdated to 2016.

During his testimony last Sunday, he was filled with joy as he recounted his no-promotion ordeal to congregants. Thanking God for elevating him to a higher ground, even though it did not come on a platter of gold, Mr Bankole advised people to cling unto God: “When it was God’s time, He performed my miracle in a wonderful way.”

HOW JESUS ENDED MY DEPENDENCE OF LIFE SUPPORT

Mrs Shola Adeniji could not breathe normally, having been diagnosed with lung and liver disorders. All efforts to find a solution to her problem failed as it was understood that no Nigerian hospital had the expertise to handle her case. As a result, the only option was for her to be flown abroad. However, it soon dawned on her doctors that flying her abroad was not even the issue. The issue was firstly, the availability of such vital organs for transplant and secondly, such surgeries are most improbable to guarantee the survival of the patient.

And so, the only way to keep her alive was for her to be on an oxygen machine for twenty-four hours every day. According to her doctors, if she did not use that oxygen machine for one minute, she would fall into a coma. For two years, she had been on that oxygen machine and had been taking a cocktail of medications. For three months, Mrs Adeniji was bed-ridden at the National Hospital, Abuja, Nigeria, where she was fed through a pipe. She could hardly utter a word while her husband had to always evacuate her excretions through adult diapers. He had spent a fortune on her and yet there was no improvement in her condition.

Amidst tears and frustration, Mr Adeniji suddenly realised that he had sent a driver to get him a “bomb” from The SCOAN. He had asked the driver to get him the Morning Water which was eventually delivered to him. Receiving the Morning Water, Mr Adeniji moved to his wife’s bedside in the hospital and emptied the whole contents into the oxygen cylinder connected to her mouth and nose. According to him, as he prayed the following morning, he cursed whoever or whatever might have been responsible for his wife’s condition. As he intensified his prayers, his wife who had not spoken for a long while called him by the name “Daddy”.

Hearing her speak for the first time in a long while, Mr Adeniji was elated. Even the doctors were shocked to find her revived. Their shock was not unfounded because, of the five of them who had the same lung and liver disease, it was only Mrs Adeniji that survived. After her revival, Mr and Mrs Adeniji continued to visit hospitals with her oxygen machine intact. They knew that God had started a miracle and that it was just a matter of time for it to be perfected. While watching Emmanuel TV one day, Mrs Adeniji had placed her hand on the screen of the television and had felt an electric shock. That experience coupled with the healing of an Indian woman with a similar case via Emmanuel TV inspired them to visit The SCOAN.

Husband and wife received their deliverance and healing respectively as the man of God laid hands on them. Since that encounter with the man of God, Mrs Adeniji has been hale and hearty. She is no longer using the oxygen machine and can talk freely now. Last Sunday, she was at The SCOAN to testify in company of members of her immediate and extended families as well as acquaintances. She glorified the name of God for healing her through His servant, Prophet T.B. Joshua. Advising people all over the world, in the light of what God has done for his wife, Mr Adeniji said, “This is a proof to doubting Thomases that God exists.”

YOKE OF BEDWETTING KNOCKED OUT FOREVER

How a beautiful young woman with a very bright future ahead of her had been ridiculed with the yoke of bedwetting by the devil remains one of the most absurd realities one can think of. For twelve years, Miss Favour Ejima had been wetting the bed uncontrollably to the extent that her relationships were marred by the malady. She had even messed the bed in the house of her suitor only to cover up with a pure water theory. According to her, the problem always happened whenever she had a dream in which she usually sought permission from a particular woman before going to ease herself. In those dreams, as soon as she decided to empty her bladder, she would wake up to find herself doing so in real life.

It was a psychologically-devastating experience for her as a university student. She would wet the bed, wake up very early to soak the bedsheets so that before her roommates would awake, the whole mess would have been taken care of. The problems persisted until Favour visited a friend in whose house she came across Emmanuel TV. After that day, she also witnessed the deliverance of a woman who had the same problem of bedwetting on Emmanuel TV and that inspired her to believe that her case was not beyond God’s anointing. Since then, she has continued to watch Emmanuel TV up to the moment when she visited The SCOAN for prayers.

Prior to her visit, she had declared that her healing would happen as soon as she stepped her feet inside The SCOAN premises. She asked God to lift the burden on her, adding that she was fed up with the shame and embarrassment. During that Sunday service, the man of God prophesied that, “There is another woman there; you are a bed-wetter. Don’t be shy. Come out!” Upon hearing her case mentioned, Favour came out from the congregation, sobbing and asking God to deliver her. “My name is Favour Ejima. I am the person that the man of God prophesied about who is bedwetting… It has greatly affected me. I bed-wet among my people, my roommates…,” she cried.

Favour would later be delivered during an after-service prayer session arranged by Prophet T.B. Joshua for congregants, albeit not without some confessions as the evil spirit that had been tormenting her manifested and made some vital revelations: “She has been bedwetting for 12 years. I don’t want her to succeed in the future; her future is very bright. I want to spoil her future. I make the men go; they will not stay. I am from the marine kingdom…” The demon further revealed how it had made school life problematic for her.

Testifying last Sunday, Favour told congregants that her problems started when she was a child. She further narrated her experience with the strange woman whom she always encountered in her dreams and how the said woman wielded a strong influence on her in the spiritual realm. Now a free person by virtue of her deliverance, Favour thanked God for bringing an end to her embarrassing ordeal. “I no longer bed-wet and my shame is gone,” she said as the congregation burst into a loud ovation, sharing in her joy. Favour advised people all over the world to run to Jesus for their healing, no matter the condition.

CEASED MENSTRUATION RESTORED, MARRIAGE BLESSED WITH A CHILD

Like the fig three which failed to bear fruits, she had failed to see her menstruation for four years. It got to an extent that her roommates in the university started wondering if she was really a woman. Their apprehensions were not unconnected to the fact that they had never noticed her change pads or even wash blood-stained bedsheets as women usually do. One day, she overheard some of her roommates discussing her and the mystery surrounding her strange nature. However, Amarachi did not allow her problem become a death sentence. Rather than conceal it, she opened up to her husband while he was still trying to woo her then.

All medical efforts proved abortive as doctors made it clear to the couple that the chance of bearing a child was abysmally non-existent because, from their diagnosis, Amarachi had a preponderance of male hormones which are naturally incongruous with the female anatomy. But because they were truly in love with each other, they did not allow the challenge to dampen the spirit of mutual understanding that thrived in their relationship.

When they eventually got married, they came to The SCOAN sometime in 2015 and received the Morning Water. Just after a day of ministering the Morning Water, Amarachi noticed a thick, black and smelly substance come out of her body. The untidy emission lasted for two days after which they met as husband and wife. Weeks later, she became pregnant and went ahead to deliver a baby boy. Even the doctors who had diagnosed her with male hormones confessed that the miracle could only have been possible because they visited The SCOAN. According to Amarachi, while she ministered the Morning Water, she had prayed to God to wipe out from her whatever she might have eaten from the table of her enemy. And so, that emission was a proof that her prayer was answered by God.

Thanking God in company of her husband last Sunday, she was grateful to Him for restoring her ceased menstruation and blessing her with fruit of the womb and a safe delivery. Recounting how they had endured the shame and social stigma associated with the initial inability to have their own child, Amarachi thanked God for making her a mother. “Whatever problem you are having, seek for a living church and God will see you through”, she advised. On his part, Amarachi’s husband also testified to his deliverance from the yokes of drinking and smoking after Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for him.

“BACK FROM THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, WE FOUND LOVE AT THE SCOAN”

He was among the thousands of Nigerians who had chosen the rough path of seeking greener pastures abroad through the deserts of Libya and the tumultuous Mediterranean Sea which has continued to swallow hundreds of illegal immigrants. Harrison was a casual dock worker in Delta State, Nigeria. His failure to secure a permanent employment led him to the idea that he could actually make it big abroad. As is often the case with people who have been brainwashed into believing that the streets of Europe are strewn with gold, milk and honey, Harrison would not look back. As far as they may last, he was ready to face all the obstacles that stood between him and a successful emigration to Europe.

He had departed Nigeria five years ago and had ended up in Libya from where his journey to Europe through the Mediterranean Sea was to commence on-board a rubber boat known as ‘lapper-lapper’. Meant for only twelve passengers, over one hundred of them were loaded into the dinghy and left at the mercy of the turbulent waves of the mighty sea. Harrison was lucky as he survived the boat wreck in which many people drowned including children. Of particular horror was the case of a couple who raised their infant baby as they sank gradually into the bowels of the sea. Unfortunately, there was no help in sight and so both parents and the innocent child drowned.

Harrison was rescued by some sea pirates, although he was beaten, wounded and ended up being thrown into an underground prison where he spent three years without seeing the light of day. One day, a fellow prisoner died and his corpse was left among the living for a while until the Libyan authorities forced Harrison and other inmates to go and bury it unceremoniously in a shallow grave in the desert.

On a particular occasion, Harrison had been used to evacuate and bury fifty-two corpses alongside a fellow Nigerian only to be compensated with a tiny loaf of bread which they ate with induced joy lest they be maimed. Life in Libya was indeed full of thorns. Whenever the illegal immigrants in prison were to be fed, they were beaten black and blue in the scorching sun and were asked to face the direction of the sun. There was no iota of human dignity accorded them at all. Some were brutalised, used at will, maimed and killed.

According to Harrison, who said he had encountered Prophet T.B. Joshua in his dreams while in prison, there were no lesser than ten thousand Nigerian illegal immigrants languishing in Libyan prisons at the time he was preparing to be deported together with many others – a move facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration, IOM. He recalled that the man of God had poured water on him in that dream while he was in detention – a sign that he would eventually leave the prison. He was among the one hundred and fifty deportees who landed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria in May, 2017. Stranded with not even transport fare back to their destinations, they came to The SCOAN seeking for help and refuge.

On hearing about their plight, Prophet T.B. Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners donated the sum of seven million naira for their welfare with each getting two bags of rice. It was an emotional moment as many thronged to The SCOAN premises to reunite with their lost but found relations whom they hardly recognised initially. For Harrison, home-coming was the greatest thing he had hoped for. Even though he has returned to find his home in disarray, he still thanks God for sparing his life. According to him, while his wife had left him to marry his friend, his only son also died while he was away.

Thanking God for bringing him back home and for using Prophet T.B. Joshua as a source of succour to him and to all the other deportees who came to The SCOAN, he declared that he has forgiven everyone who might have hurt him, especially his former wife and his friend who married her. He has refused to take offence because his wife and friend got married only when they had thought he was dead. The same friend was with him at The SCOAN on Sunday to share in his testimony and to ask him for forgiveness, even though the decision to marry his wife emanated from rumours about his death. Harrison advised Nigerian youths to desist from embarking on illegal migration routes, adding that they should wait for God’s time.

  3. Due to his divine nature many of us will not understand many things he is doing. Those who look at him in spiritual eyes will be able to rise because they will apply the teachings and direction and his suggestions. But those who do not accept him are bound to fall.
