“On Saturday, on Saturday, pray for protection for this hero. He is struggling with some certain things known to him and God. But I am seeing death. Hero, hero...”

On Sunday 9th August, 2009, during the live service broadcast on Emmanuel TV, Prophet T.B. Joshua gave a message of prophecy concerning the vision God had given him of somebody in a graduation gown with a cap. These were his words:
“If we are here and the Lord is showing us what is happening around the world, what of you? The eyes of faith that see over there. This morning I woke up and the Lord was telling me I should pray for this person in the graduation gown, With a cap. Somebody in the graduation gown, with a cap. He must be a well known, he must be a very, very popular person. The fact that God can bring this issue to me – he must be well known. What has happened? Why in a graduation gown? When the person died, they took the picture of graduation gown to show on the screen. Who is the person? Why a graduation gown? Why? Somebody at the centre of his own world. You have seen that anything you hear, don’t joke with it. Hold it. But what we are saying has happened already. It is just repetition they are showing here. When you learn that somebody is dead now, that person might have died five days ago. He must have left your midst here but he will be moving, he will be talking, he will be eating with you, laughing with you but he is there already.”
During another Sunday service, the man of God gave a further prophecy concerning the death of a hero specifically mentioning the day, Saturday. Here is what he said:
On Saturday, on Saturday, pray for protection for this hero. He is struggling with some certain things known to him and God. But I am seeing death. Hero, hero.
In direct confirmation of the prophecy, on Saturday the 5th September 2009, the internationally renowned human rights lawyer, activist and legendary Nigerian hero Gani Fawehinmi died following a two year struggle with lung cancer.
The man of God said that when the person died, they took the picture of a graduation gown to show on the screen. This is exactly what happened. News reports showed the many who came to pay tribute to this national hero wrote their condolences in a journal underneath a large framed portrait of the legendary lawyer. Wearing his official gown and cap, this is the attire he wore to fearlessly fight for the cause of justice - what he will forever be remembered for. This iconic image of Gani in his official gown epitomizes what he lived for, fought for and died for. Clearly the official gown and cap that Gani Fawehinmi popularly known as Gani, is seen wearing on the screen is exactly what the prophet saw and described in the vision God had given him. Let us recall how the prophet described the vision.
Take note of the specific day of the week Prophet TB Joshua mentioned the death of a hero:
“On Saturday, on Saturday, pray for protection for this hero. He is struggling with some certain things known to him and God. But I am seeing death/ Hero, hero”.
The news of the death of Gani Fawehinmi, known as the conscience of Nigeria for his uncompromising campaign to defend the hopes and rights of the masses, sent shock waves throughout his nation, Africa and around the World. BBCNews reported:
“Legendary Nigerian activist dies
Prominent Nigerian democracy activist and human rights lawyer Gani Fawehinmi has died of cancer at the age of 71. Earlier this year he was voted one of Nigeria's 20 living legends by the Nigerian Vanguard newspaper. He was also a renowned campaigner on behalf of the poor and stood for president in 2003 after founding the National Conscience Party. The BBC's Fidelis Mbah in Lagos says the lawyer was often referred to as "the people's president".
Gani Fawehinmi, holder of Nigeria's highest legal title, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was an author, publisher, philanthropist, social critic, human and civil rights lawyer and politician. The hero had been struggling with cancer for the past two years and was in and out of hospital for treatment both at home and abroad, hindering him from active participation in the law courts.
Gani’s death dominated the nation’s media as headline after headline heralded the tragic news. Nigerian President Umaru Yar’ Adua said he received the news of Fawehinmi's death with sadness and a deep feeling of great national loss."The president extends his heartfelt condolences to Chief Fawehinmi’s family. He urges them to be comforted by the knowledge that the late legal luminary lived a fulfilled and remarkable life dedicated to the unrelenting pursuit of good governance, equity and justice for all Nigerians" his spokesman said.
Former Nigerian president Ibrahim Babangida said that Chief Gani Fawehinmi needs to be celebrated not just by members of his human rights community but by all Nigerians who have benefited from his struggles and battles to make life meaningful for mankind.
We at Emmanuel TV and The SCOAN thank God for the prophetic revelation and for the life and legacy of hero Gani Fawehinmi who campaigned tirelessly to further the cause of justice for the common man. As he himself memorably said, "I am not a middle-of-the road man. What I believe in, I pursue intensely”.
We pray for the family, friends and colleagues of the great Gani Fawehinmi that God would give them the fortitude to bear the loss and the resolve to continue his fight for justice.
Upon reflection of the life of Gani Fawehinmi, let us commit our life unto God in good works that we might be sure of divine favour and consolation. The best way to do this is to keep a good conscience.
