“The sea is warming up. Sea is warming up and something is warming inside the sea. The ground, the land, down the sea, there is going to be an earthquake and that will flush, bring the water into the city, into the community and it would look like tsunami. Those who, tourists, living very close to the sea – this is a warning. The Asian country.”

In the month of July, 2009 Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied concerning disastrous events that would begin to occur in the month of August, 2009. These were his words on Sunday 19th July, 2009:
“The sea is warming up. Sea is warming up and something is warming inside the sea. The ground, the land, down the sea, there is going to be an earthquake and that will flush, bring the water into the city, into the community and it would look like tsunami. Those who, tourists, living very close to the sea – this is a warning. The Asian country.”
These were the words Prophet T.B. Joshua spoke on Sunday, the 26th July 2009, in which he revealed the exact dates these events would begin to occur.
“Pray, fast. The month of August, 7. August 7,8,9,10. Why all this is happening because we are in a generation without faith, without hope. Any time there is a message, it’s either one is positive, the rest – negative because we are in a generation without faith and without hope. There are some situations that can be reversed but we cannot do it alone here. But when the whole world hears it, instead of them also to take cognizance about the matter and join us in prayer – because it’s a two-sided affair, it is not one. Sometimes, the Lord can give us the grace to change it but there are some situations God says, “They must also involve in the prayer”. But when the world at large is faithless and without hope, they say, “What is this man saying? He has started again”.
On the 7th of August, Friday, 2009, news broke that Typhoon Morakot struck Taiwan as it began to wreak devastation in the Asia pacific region. Typhoon Morakot stormed through Taiwan before slamming into eastern China over the weekend. The weekend of Morakot’s wrath from Friday 7th August through to Monday 10th August, has affected a staggering 11 million people in China alone.
On the four consecutive days in August specified by Prophet TB Joshua, 7,8,9,10, disasters which made headline news occurred in succession.
The 7th of August saw Typhoon Morakot strike Taiwan, lashing rain and provoking flash flooding. The 8th of August saw Typhoon Morakot ravage the island of Taiwan with record breaking rainfall, the worst in half a century. The 9th of August saw a six storey hotel swept away in flood waters in Taiwan, one million evacuated as Morakot hits China while in India – 43 people were buried alive under debris in a deadly landslide. The 10th August saw Typhoon Etau hit west Japan and two earthquakes shake the sea beds of the Indian and pacific oceans, triggering a Tsunami warning for 5 surrounding countries.
After battering Taiwan, Friday and Saturday, the 7th and 8th August, Typhoon Morakot hit China on the coast of the Fujian province about 4:20 p.m., Sunday with winds which clocked 73 mph in its eye, according to the province's meteorological bureau. Taiwan and China were not the only Asian nations to be affected by these dreadful disasters as on, Sunday 9th August 2009, a terrible landslide occurred in India where at least 43 people were buried alive.
In the aftermath of Typhoon Morakot, on Monday 10th August 2009, the last day specified by Prophet TB Joshua, news broke of two earthquakes in Asia that occurred within minutes of each other, one near the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean and the other, off the coast of Japan, triggering Tsunami warnings, just as PTBJ had said. Let’s recall his words on Sunday 19th July, 2009.
In the numerous breaking news reports that carried the story, the key words that Prophet T.B. Joshua had mentioned, such as earthquake, tsunami, warning were clearly indicated. Just as Prophet TB Joshua said, these events occurred in the Asian countries, India and Japan, in the Indian ocean off the coast of the Andaman Islands and off the coast of Honshu, Japan.
A few days later more than 1,300 people were still trapped in remote mountainous villages in southern Taiwan, victims of treacherous mudslides and floods from Typhoon Morakot, the country's semiofficial Central News Agency said Saturday 15th August. Since the typhoon struck over the weekend, more than 31,000 people have been pulled from the mud and debris which was all that remained of many villages, according to official government figures. Torrential downpours, dense fog, rugged terrain and raging rivers have made it difficult for rescuers in Taiwan. Washed-out roads and bridges rendered rescue operations impossible in the central and southern regions of the island, the National Disaster Prevention and Protection Commission said. From the side of the road, Luo Yong Ling looked at what was left of her hometown and cried. Shiao Lin, a woman cried as she viewed the flattened plain of mud where homes once stood. "All of my relatives including my older brother are gone," said Shiao Ling resident Luo Yong Ling. "Only my brother's son is alive. More than 10 of my relatives and just one left."
As the calm seems to settle after the storm that has rocked Asia’s pacific coast, it is indeed a sobering moment not just for the victims and witnesses of these disasters, but also for all those who watched them on the screens of their television sets worldwide. One may ask the question, why is all this happening?
Sometimes in life, it seems as if the world around us is coming to an end but faith finds encouragement even in that which is discouraging and gets nearer to God. It honours God to believe Him even while every sense contradicts Him. In every situation, God has something to say. Let us recall the words of Prophet TB Joshua:
“Why all this is happening because we are in a generation without faith, without hope.
We at Emmanuel TV and The SCOAN, pray for the nations of Taiwan, China, Japan and India, for all those who lost their loved ones and whose lives were affected by these disasters, that the eternal God would be their refuge. We pray for this generation, that God would open the eyes of our faith, that we may know God’s will concerning our situation, that we may know that God is still saying something. In the light of these tragic events, let us live for eternity that we may secure all that is available in it.
